Do Not Open Until December 25th

I cannot tell you how excited I am about this Christmas.  It’s my nephew’s 1st Christmas and I made this tag with him in mind after seeing a challenge at Mo’ Digital.  I am going to hang it on his tree so he can remember it each year.  Trimming trees is a tradition with my Mom.  She use to have one large tree.  Last year it was two and with grandbaby it’s three!  Yes he has his own tree lol.  Anyhow...I can't wait to recapture this moment with him under the tree in a box!  It's going to be a Kodak moment!!!   Stay tuned.....

Thank you God for

I was just sitting down thinking about what I was thankful for and I start going down the alphabet and thought why not type it and put it on a card.  This is my inspiration for a challenge at Scraps of Color using a Robert Jackson digital.  This digi reminds me of those days when you prayed when you woke up, at breakfast, lunch and dinner AND you better not close those eyes and get to bed before you thank the Lord for another day.  I am most thankful for my upbringing.  Not a perfect child, but a child whose family believed in Quality Time.  I love those talks and walks and family gatherings for every occasion.

Live in the Spirit of Christmas

Of course I don’t believe in fairies, but they are beautiful and so is this fairy from A Day for Daisies.  She was colored with Spectrum Noir markers and the design is a sketch by Flutter By Wednesday.  As a little girl I was told a fairy would give me money when I lost a tooth.  Everyone had a fairy godmother, who is sweet as sugar.  A fairy is like an angel who protects you.  A fairy can make your dreams come true. Now that I’m older I know better, but right now in this moment I just want to “Live in the Spirit of Christmas” as a child. Lol  Silly me huh?!

Snow?  Did I say that?  Not in Memphis.  When it snows here we shut down the city and although I would love to stay home and papercraft, I have to think about others who will be traveling to see their loved ones for Thanksgiving. Isn’t Tilda the cutest?!  She’s on her way to visit relatives

Oh Give Thanks

Hello Blog Friends...It's the Season of Thanksgiving!.  Oh give thanks to the LORD for He is good.  Be sure to join us over at Twist of Faith card challenges this week as We Give Thanks!  As always don't forget the 'Twist of Faith' you must include a positive or uplifting scripture, sentiment, or quote.  Our sponsor is Eureka and I'm using 'Harvest Bouquet' and who doesn't love receiving flowers?  Since some people are allergic to flowers this card serves the same purpose, but these flowers  last longer! I believe we should give our beloved friends and family the flowers while they live instead of when they die.  Tell someone how much you love them and follow it up with  a floral card.  They will love it!

Birthday wishes

My dear scrappy friend and sorority sister Rhoda turned 60!!  To wish her a Happy Birthday, I colored this cute image of India Arie in her favorite colors.  The navy flower was added, because her party had a blue jeans theme. My intention was to make a gift card holder for her gift card, but I saw this pretty sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge #223 and went for it.   I will definitely use it again.  I am also entering it into Scraps of Color Robert Jackson - Black Girls ROCK challenge.  My friend does ROCK.

In Remembrance

It's Tuesday and time for our Twist of Faith card challenge.  This weeks challenge is "In Remembrance" with the Twist of Faith to include a scripture,  verse or quote that is encouraging, uplifting or inspiring. I'm encouraging my receiver to Keep Looking Up.  When I saw Digi Darla's birdhouse flower pot, I thought about singing birds and pulled out my Martha Stewart punches to create my scene. I pulled out gel pens that I haven't used since I purchased them years ago and colored the image!  My goal was to create a CAS card......well I tried.

Recipe:
Digi Darla - birdhouse flower pot image
Martha Stewart tools- bird & fence edge punches and fringe scissors
Recollection - flowers
The Craft Lounge - sparkly fluff
Gel pens
This is a close up of the Brown Sugar Sparklyfluff I added to the house to make it look natural and I also added some to the bottom of the grass that I made using my Martha Stewart fringe scissors.

Hope you join us this week.

Tag I'm It

Here’s my entry for Verve’s ‘Tag You’re It’ October Diva Dare.  I was inspired with this card by a tutorial from Lawren and Verve's ‘Let It Be’ set .  The adorable image is by Mo's Digital Stamps.  I'm sure I'll use this pattern as an insert in a mini album!

Recipe:
Mo Digital image
Bic Mark it markers
Verves stamps - Let It Be
Recollections True & Authentic paper
Webster's pages Your Life.  Beautiful
Ribbon FX  ribbons
Making Memories glittered flourishes

This is the front view with the tag inserted.  The cute image is a mini folded card.  When you open the card there are two inspirational messages.

Do you see the two stamped messages inside?  When you pull back that flap you will see the inside of the card.  The part on the right flaps up (Faith can move mountains) for the inside message of the card.  The black piece with the floral design holds the back of the tag.

This is how it looks when the flap is down. That's why I call it my mini inspirational card.  It has so many opportunities to open and be inspired!
