Our Daily Bread Designs Romans 8:28

This is my first time entering a challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs  and I'm excited.  I love their scriptures and every time I use them I think of Archivers were I purchased them.  Wow...I miss that store. I've met some wonderful ladies there and developed some great friendships.  Archivers was an Awesome place to fellowship and the employees were the best.

Not everyone can be a Princess

When I selected this digital stamp, I didn't know how I was going to use it.  Being that my name is Princess, I didn't want to sound conceited.  It later dawned on me that it would be a great Thank You card.  On the inside I will write, "Now let me applaud you for ....................................".   I'm behind on my thank you cards so let me get busy.  Thank you for stopping by my place!  It's a lonely place when no one visits.

Recipe ingredients:

Joining Bugaboo for their Anything But a Card Monday challenge making a tag.  This cute digi reminds me of the days when we use to get together to celebrate special occasions.....Kind of like the "Waiting to Exhale" moments celebrating friendship.  Check out the sentiment that comes with the digital image. "Friends don't let Friends wine alone".     Nothing like good friends sharing, caring and drinking responsibly.

The Wiz featuring Lion

If you haven’t heard already, Scraps of Color is having The Wiz relay challenge.  Our first image was the Tin Man.  And now we are featuring the Lion. You remember him..…the one with no courage.  I was gifted A Little Book of Hugs to Encourage and Inspire one year.   There is a quote in it that reads, “Courage is fear that has said its prayers”.  I’m feeling courageous!
My creation is a tag using this gorgeous image by Robert Jackson.  He never cease to amaze me with his designs.  This challenge is to use COURAGE on the card and we can pick one or all 3 on our projects:   dry embossing, jute and/or burlap.   I chose burlap.  To make Lion come alive, I put Brown Sugar Sparkly Fluff by Our Craft Lounge for his hair and tail.  Copics were used for his outfit.  Then I went in my stash to select brown, bronze and chocolate paper and embellishments.  My goal was to add different textures.  The ribbon was used to tie a knot at the top and I pleated it at the bottom.

Have a great week and it is my prayer that you are warm and cozy.  Be encouraged!

The Wiz featuring Tin Man

Scraps of Color is having The Wiz relay challenge.  In order to continue with the relay you must create and post your project before the deadline using the given image.  The first image is the Tin Man character by Robert Jackson and you must use silver/metal embellishments.  I used a metal sheet, arrow, heart, mini bottle clip on top of a spiral paperclip and eyelets. The quote reads "Hearts will never be practical until they are made unbreakable."  I piled it on while watching my third favorite movie!  Gotta Love the music featuring Michael Jackson and Diana Ross among other great artist.  Barry Gordy did a phenomenal job with the soundtrack.

1st post of 2014

My first post for 2014 is my DT project for Scraps of Color E:spire.  It's a Paperbag calendar! I had some technical difficulties with my computer but you can't keep a Papercrafter down long!  First let me send a shout out to Clementine Creative for the inspiration.  She has these cute pastel printable 2014 calendar pages. I thought it would be the perfect gift for my godsister's baby girl Marley.  A great way to get organized as she & hubby prepare photos and other memorabilia for babys album.
It was a joy to make.  I got a chance to pull my pastels and gathered things from my stash.  I didn't purchase one thing.  What a great start to a frugal year!

I cut the calendars to size and matted them to give definition.

I must admit these paper bags were huge.  They were given to me and as you see they came to great use.  It was the best size because you can fit a 4x6 photo in the pocket.  How about that...Cool huh?!
Below are front covers of each month.  Just love how it all came together.  Some of the embellishments are over mmmm so long ago I can't recall lol.  Look at the vellum quote below...
I used a quote from Word Art Wednesday, an old edge punch and chipboard word below.
The Valentine ticket was from a kit about 3 years ago. I like layering die cuts as I did the heart with a bird and flower.  Simple but fun!
LOVE, love, love the fiber I received from Mama Minnie!  The die cut spool was given to me in a swap.
Had to add some lace, it's a girl right?  The photo didn't capture the birdie edge punch above the quote.
Making Memories fabric phrase is very old.  I'm amazed how I've been hoarding, but so excited that I finally used it!
The mini clothes pins came from Michaels dollar bin.  Does anyone remember the vellum quote books?
I had the laced ribbon in a box and it was the perfect size.  Wow loving how it is all coming together.
I used my mice hole edge punch and a chipboard from a kit.  Oh and the Sassafras paper is from a kit.
The crocheted rattle is truly old from an embellishment kit and I added a piece of metal.
Finally December using the fenced edge punch.  I was happy to use a few punches in this project.
Hope you enjoyed looking.  Can't wait to mail it to my godsister.  It's a great way to keep things organized.

Tell me what you think.  Wishing you Wonderful Memories to Cherish this year and put in a scrapbook!
