Word Art Wednesday

When we baptize our children at Early Grove Baptist Church, they are dressed in white from head to toe.   This little digital reminds me so much of them.

Suplies:
Word Art Wednesday - sentiment
Robert Jackson - digital image
Lily Bee Cosmopolitan & Smashing paper
Martha Stewart butterfly punch
Spellbinder die
Glossy Accents
Copic and LePlume markers

Digital close up

I've always taught my Sunday School class coming to Christ is simple as ABCAccept Jesus Christ as your Saviour, Believe that Christ died for you, and Confess your Sins.  What better JOY than to see a child be saved.  Hallelujah AMEN!

Let's continue to pray for children everywhere.  There is so much temptation and peer pressure.

Count On Me

This card is entered in  CPS #279,  Word Art Wednesday #42 Joy and SOC Robert Jackson Sing a Song challenge.  Don't know about you, but I get joy when I sing unto the Lord.  I might not sound like Aretha Franklin, but I think all God's children can sing!!  This choir is singing 'Smile' by Kirk Franklin. I trust you are having a great day, but just by chance you want some inspiration or just a motivational song in your spirit, click on this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8SPwT3nQZ8 so you can SMILE.

Supplies:
DCWV paper stack
K&Company butterfly
Robert Jackson digital image
Bic Mark it & Copic markers

This card is entered in BSCB #5.  Their challenge is Occupations.  Is this secretary ready or not?  I suppose we are all secretaries in some sort of way with all the multi tasking that goes on in our lives....or is it just me.  : )  Although the secretary has a serious look on her face she's still smiling in her heart ready and willing to serve.

Special 'Times'

It’s that 'time' again.  A special 'time' to celebrate life!

This red tin mailbox was purchased three years ago at Michael’s.  It’s been sitting on my desk filled with ATC’s I've received from swaps.  I thought it would be the perfect object to alter for Jackson's Digital Expressions Design Team project featuring  The Cutting Cafe.   It's all about 'time'. Come join us!

The Special 'times’ flower was my chosen digi and thought only sweet Little Miss Elisha also from The Cutting Cafe would be the best choice to receive my birthday greetings.

August 22nd will be my 51st birthday. This project was right on ‘time’ although I celebrate the entire month!  Of course I had to use the red/white/black combination since it’s going in my scraproom.

Don’t have any idea where I got the black flourish chipboard. The black flower is by Katiemylady from a swap. The white flower is from one of my sweet new sorority sister.  Stickles was added to the stick pins.

A view from the rear.....Lace from Hancock Fabrics & Tuesday Morning.

Thank you for the special comments you leave me.

Double the Fun!

It's been another week of card challenges and I have two more that will be submitted.  It's really helping me to get my cards completed and in the mail.  The first one is for Memascrafts Anything Goes with a Twist of RED. Her sponsor for the month is Saturated Canary.  Isn't she a beauty?  I hope I did her justice.  She's wearing red patent leather shoes and so is her jacket, although I think it's a bit to hot....

Supplies:
Daisyd's paper
Vellum paper
Copic markers
Martha Stewart edge punch

This card design was inspired by Mojo Monday #254.  The digi is so heartwarming but I can not remember what site I got it from to give them credit so if you know please tell me.  I am also entering it in Word Art Wednesday Challenge #41 for encouraging and uplifting sentiment.
Supplies:
Basic Grey Lime Rickey Paper
Piggy Tales Tortoise and the hare collection
Making Memories fabric sentiments

Well got to complete an altered art project.  Stop by and visit again!

An Awesome Young Man

I just love this image from Robert Jackson and this card was created for a Birthday card Challenge at Scraps Of Color.  Do you remember dressing up as a child?  He also has a little girl dressing up digi.  I went wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back in my stash for this masculine paper stack from K & Company.  I added the butterfly from DCWV Mariposa paper stack and a few metal pieces.  The gentleman receiving this card truly is awesome, hardworking, and has a pleasant smile just like this little fellow.  He has blessed me in more ways than he can ever imagine.

This birthday card was created for Brown Sugar Challenge #4 Button and Bows.  I pulled out a couple of old tools I've been neglecting.  The red paper was pulled through my Fiskars paper crimper and the heart was made with my Creative Memories heart punch. The gift button and bows all came from my stash.  Thanks for your visit.

Word Art Wednesday

I was asked to create a card for a new mother.  This is my creation that will be entered in Word Art Wednesday  challenge using their scripture for the week.

Supplies:
Word Art Wednesday - word art
Robert Jackson - digital stamp
Spellbinder -die cuts
Bic Mark-it markers

As a child growing up I always wondered why they say you should cry at births and rejoice at funerals. (Cry because the child is born into sin and Rejoice when the soul is gone with the Lord) John 16:21 reads, A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world KJV.
This image from Robert Jackson  spells L-O-V-E.  I LOVE to see parents spend time with their children. You can buy them all types of ‘material things’, but it’s nothing like ‘quality time’. I take nothing for the memories I’ve shared with my parents. I’ll soon be 51 and I’m still thanking my mother for the many times she told me ‘No’. Although I never birthed a child, I thank GOD for the lives I’ve touched teaching Kindergarten Sunday School and the Red Circle Girls. I pray their continued strength in the Lord and rejoicing with all mothers everywhere. Have a blessed week.

The Papercrafting Princess

Our past Corresponding Secretary Qadriyyah gave me this photo and shadow box frame as a gift, which I absolutely adore.  Check out the sheet music!   It was altered for my DT blog Scraps Of Color Espire.  After altering this frame, I knew I was a true Papercrafting Princess.

I wanted to alter it a bit to reflect the memory from this picture so I journaled it.  I left off one thing, can you tell?  If you guessed the date you are correct....2010-2012.  It truly was a wonderful experience serving Memphis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority as 2nd Vice President.
Close up & Supplies:
Quickutz die cut
Recollection flowers & pearls

Michaels tulle

Since I am celebrating my birthday this month I thought I might want to create a few layouts and my crafts reflecting my life.  So thankful.......Sincerely Papercrafting Princess

Card Challenges Are Fun!

Card Challenges encourages me to use what I have in my stash.  I just don't want to be a hoarder and now realize that when they make one pretty item they will make another one. This card was entered in  Word Art Wednesday #39 & Classy Girl Card Challenge #2. I received this cute pp and flower embellishment as a prize from Queen Kate during her birthday blog hop. Yes she's the Queen and I'm the Princess.

Word Art Wednesday

Wow where did the week go?   I come to you with a weekend motivation from Word Art Wednesday.   Two words in this verse popped out in my mind…peace & thankful.

Recipe:
Robert Jackson digital image
Making Memories Chloe's Closet
Copic and Bic-Mark it markers
Martha Stewart heart & edge punch
I was sharing with my co-worker Janice about my post today and on her desk was A Daily Walk Through Psalms for Women 365 Days A Year.  I opened it to Day 155 and the message was ‘Too Busy’.   Mmmmm…..Anyone knows me know that I am a busy bee.  Since reaching 50, I am learning to slow down and savor the moment.  In the reading it mentions today is a gift to yourself, slow down, and claim your inner peace.  I thank GOD for a peace of mind and for His Divine Intervention in my life.  The song in my spirit goes along with this little lady from Robert Jackson's designs.   Karen Clark-Sheard sings ‘If I can’t say a word I’ll just wave my hand’.   Some of the lyrics are ‘Sometimes I get so filled up like an overflowing cup can’t seem to find the words to say, Holy Spirit have your way’.   I’m waving my mind praising God for peace within.  Thank you for visiting.  I used Mojo Monday #252 card sketch.
