Santa's Heart

Awwe look at Santa.  Do you recall when you found out there was no Santa? I can remember like it was yesterday I was in the six grade, which made me about 11 years old.  It took all the fun out of Christmas.  Did you make a wish list of items from the Sears catalog, leave cookies for Santa or be extra good during the holiday season?  Well I did until then.  After then my focus was on the true meaning of Jesus birth and how important it is to give than to receive. This is my post for Jackson's Digital Expressions  Color Design Team.

Supply List:
Little Yellow Bicycle background paper
Martha Stewart punches
Word Art Wednesday scripture
Bic Mark-it markers

The tree was made out of products in my stash.  Come on and join us using red/black/white combo for Challenge #33.  Be sure to stop by and see what the other Design Team members created.

Thank God for Creative Hands

I am thankful for many things, but Creative Hands is an obvious.  I tried to get some much needed rest after Thanksgiving dinner, but I just had to 'Get crafty'!   Let me share a few cards that struck my interest.  First is a challenge of Scraps Of Color Black Girls ROCK.  Which sparked from a television show on  BET hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King.  Here's one featuring Janelle Monae.  Her testimony was a blessing to me.

Yes 24 bottle toppers using my scraps from a mini album I created.

Here are my instructions.  Sure hope it's easy to understand.  I was inspired by several videos and post, but with 24 to make in a few hours I had to make them nice yet simple with just a view steps. 1) The tag was cut at 3 x 11. 2) I scored them at 2 1/2 at one end and 3 1/2 at the other end. 3) I used the corner rounder on all corners of the tag. 4) The front cover was cut with a different pattern 2 3/4 x 3 1/2. The corner rounder was just used on the top corners. 5) I started using the Creative Memories circle punch, but it was so easier to use the Stampin Up punch and I used the paper from the punch to mat the sentiment. 6) The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock in Anna Griffin brown pigment ink. It reads "All My THANKS To You!" 7) The glue gun was used to add the leaf and sentiment on the front as well as the sides of the front to insert the Lemonade.
Tools:
Creative Memories circle and corner rounder
Stampin Up punch and stamp set

Hope you had an opportunity to view my mini album I created with The Wild Splendor on  Scraps Of Color Espire.  You can find the inserts as well.  I always hold on to my favorite paper stacks, but this time I wanted to create with the entire stack and can you believe I still have 19 full 12x12 pages and 2 pages of die cuts left?  You just got to LOVE it!
Mini album created for Scraps of Color Espire Design Team

Oh the possibilities! I think I'm going to make book markers for my students with the other paper OR  a few mini albums and reward them for taking initiative on their assignments in class!   If you haven't already purchased your stack put it on your Black Friday list.

From my family to yours ...............
Happy Thanksgiving my fellow bloggers!  I appreciate you stopping by

Holiday Altered Art

Happy Holidays!
Jackson's Digital Expressions Altered Arts Design Team created projects using any kind of container new or recyled from jars, cans, etc.  I enjoy working with Robert Jackson's cute digital images and have two projects to share.  The first is a canned jar of spiced tea I'm making for my mother's Thanksgiving table.  She started a Thanksgiving tradition over 20 years ago cooking dinner for her family and loves to give gifts.  The little jars will be used as table decor and given to her sisters.
Supplies
Robert Jackson digital - Pray
Tim Holtz rosette die
Making Memories square brads
Canvas Corp
Daisys D paper
Prima flowers
Dress it Up flower
Adornament fiber
Hancock lace

Side view.  Can't you see the spiced tea! Mmmm good

Floral topper

Now for Christmas I used fabric on this project.  It's an old candle jar and it was truly an exciting time for me since it was my first opportunity to use fabric.  My Stampin Up buddy Sharon RAK'd her stampin group with a box of Designer Candy Cane Christmas Fabric and I knew I would use it, but not sure how.  I made the floral flower and put it on top of the Prima flower with leaves. I also tappered the cover and placed it on top securing it with felt fiber.

Supplies
Robert Jackson digi - Around the Tree
Bic Mark-it markers
Stampin Up fabric
Martha Stewart edge punch
Michael's ribbon

Don't you just love this heartwarming image?!

This is my pride and joy!  My first fabric flower!!!!  : )

The bottom has red poinsettas and the tag was placed inside.
Now come on and create your altered item using any kind of container.  The theme is Holiday or Winter.  Here's a photo of them both.
