Psalm 34:18

The Lord is close to the Bro-ken-heart-ed.  He rescues those who are crushed in the spirit.  Psalm 34:18.  The scripture is my inspiration for this mixed media design. The heart is a corrugated board painted with swirls of white acrylic paint and edged in Memento black ink.  After using gesso over the canvas sheet, I laid down a doily and music. I applied some molding paste over the TCW stencil and sprayed Recollection mist.  Gotta add a little bling, right?

Closeup of the scripture

Close up of a few causes of brokenness on the bottom right.  I wanted to play on the syllables of Brokenhearted by cutting them with edge scissors and placing them in various directions.  The heart has a pop dot along with the word Disconsolate.  The words are raised on chipboard.  I printed the words on white paper and sprayed with mists.  Fiber was used to loop the words unto a heart metal tied down with musical ribbon.

Here's a close up of the pop up heart raised up.  All of the chip board hearts raised on the white corrugated heart were nude.  I added acrylic paint, mist, glitter, ink and bling.  My colors are yellow, teal and purple although they look different on the photos.  My apologies for that.

The song is 'Love lifted me'.  It's from our church program.  I LOVE to recycle them.  Thank God for His LOVE that lifts us up in spite of the adversities and sins in our lives.
Showing a few Prima items used.  Prima Finnabair mechanical vintage trinket and Prima flowers, cottage blossom orchid. The yellow, teal and purple buds were white.  They were sprayed with mist used on the design.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you are inspired from the scripture, song or something in the design.  Make it a great day in the Lord!

Got the MOJO Monday groove

Yes indeed!  I got the MOJO Monday groove.  I'm bringing you another take on the sketch while having a little fun with a few other challenges.  This card was an order for a sweet senior citizen, however if you are late it puts her on the edge.  I took a quick photo to get it to her on time.  Unfortunately I didn't check the photo, because it's not quite that clear to see the details, but I hope you see it well enough.  It's layered with lots of love.

Recipe Ingredients
K&Company Black & Ivory papers
Tim Holtz bird die cut
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Hancock Fabrics - lace
Recollection pearls

My First Pocket Letter Swap

What awesome way to use your scraps with a Pocket Letter Swap hosted by Scraps of Color.  We were to make three pocket pages for three different sisters.  The theme was getting to know you.  I think I spent a lot of time on the city lol.  Hope you can see it well with the page protectors on.  As you see, I live in Memphis.  LOVE just about all teas!  The National Civil Rights Museum is where you can find me volunteering (LOVE that place).  Fascinated by clocks and always available for a Kodak moment.  Go Grizzlies!
On the back I left a lot of love i.e. First row:  2 die cut sizzlets (sister die cut and flourish), four stamps by Hanna, Tim Holtz tickets.  Second row:  Sizzix camera, Spellbinders window and a tag with a Verve stamp scripture in the back, Sizzix file folder die with lace wrapped around it attached to an altered paper clip.  The flower is EK success and a strand of pearls.  Third row:  One of my favorite teas, a rubber stamp and an ATC I made.
View of the ATC.  It has two black birds on top of the stickered sentiment.
A stamp from the $1 bin at Michaels with a few Prima flowers.
Love this window.   I stamped a Verve scripture on a tag.
I should have taken this all out to get a better photo.  Love how I put it together.
Played around with my stamps and ink
Yes this is me!  My mother had some ribbon in her stash that totally mocked the dress so I made a bow for my hair.
Love this cute stamp set with the tea bag, spoon and sentiment.  There is always a moment for tea!
One of the views of Downtown Memphis.  Used a page pebble for the date and poured some fun embellishments at the bottom.
Just wanted to build a little love with a warm burlap and cute brad.  Stamped sentiment.
Just a note card punched with EK note punch.  Added some fiber to the paper clip and two hearts expressing unity.  Our country needs it!
Time for a Kodak moment and walk down Beale Street.  You might even see Elvis walking and singing.
How about those Grizzlies!  Love our Team and the LOVE they pour in Memphis!

Well tell me what you think?  I would love to get your feedback.  Looking forward to another swap...SO many possibilities and it's great to send some goodies.

MOJO Monday 405

Here's my take on MOJO Monday #405 sketch.  I used We R Memory Keepers pages.  The colors are so vibrant and scream summer!  It was hard to select from all the pretty patterns.  Can't wait to use them on a few layouts. I like how the embossing on the yellow vellum stands out.

Recipe ingredients:
W R Memory Keepers paper
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Verves stamp
Hancock Fabrics - ribbon

Denim mini album with Pearls and Lace

This Denim, Pearls and Lace mini album is my Design Team project for Scraps of Color E:spire.  I used my old Levi jeans and designed it using a 6x6 chipboard album.  It's layered with pearls and lace and other goodies all from my stash.  Hope you are inspired.

Below are views inside the album and back cover.
The flowers on the right are Make Market flowers from Micheal's.
The Denim flower on the right was cut with Tim Holtz die cut.  Both pages are interactive for photos.
The interactive page on the right is similar to a gate way fold.
Another Tim Holtz die cut flower creation adding a little burlap.
Hope you enjoyed the view.  Now I'm trying to find ways of using the leftover denim.

Products used:
Authentique Curiosity Collection paper stack
Hancock fabrics - Lace and fiber
Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die cut
Prima flowers & crochet icons
Make Market flowers by Michaels
Heidi Grace chipboard hearts
Anna Griffin edge punches
EK Success mini flower punch
