Tag...I'm it

It's been a Wonderful Crafty Day for me.  I played with a few of my Tim Holtz products I received at Hilton's Craftin for a Cause last year.  I can't believe I'm just now playing with this stamp set.  I purchased his first book at Archivers some years ago and all I do is look and dream....Not today.  I made a tag using most of his products.  I must give Mandy credit for the cheese cloth.  She mentioned it was one of her six favorite tools that she uses on all of her creations.  'She' made me go to Michael's LOL.  Got to blame someone for my purchases right?   Honestly I think I'm going to take the flower off the tag and replace it with another one.  I'm going to wear it!!!!  I made it using tulle that I burned the ends and added the cheese cloth after I sprayed it.  Then I sewed the button on the top and added some felt at the back.
Recipe:
Tim Holtz - Nature's Element stamps
Tim Holtz - inks
Tim Holtz - button
Tim Holtz - fiber
Tim Holtz alcohol inks
Glossy Accents
Stickles
Perfect Pearls
Recollections pastel blue spray ink
 Close up photo shot.
I don't know if the chipboard pieces (hanger, needle, dress form and sewing machine) are his or not.
This is how I got started. With the chipboard pieces I inked them and used Precious Pearls.

Friday Night Chat 6.20.14

Our hostess at Scraps of Color, Mazella, had double duty.  She was attending the Texas girls of SOC Retreat in Kountze, TX at Stone Creek Lodge and Scraps of Color Friday Nite Chat hostess.  We had three challenges along with the theme project "Sew Lovely".  Our challenge for the project was to use kraft paper, embossing, stitching and a sentiment.  We have until Sunday at midnight to complete, but when I woke up after what was supposed to be a nap so I could chat a while...It was 2:00am  LOL.  After looking at my craft table, this was my creation.  Sentiment and title is '"The best time 2 create -  SOC FNC".  Now off to our three challenges. I've had the Making Memories metal clock for years.

Entering in the following challenges:
Clear It Out - Anything Goes
Di Designs - Lots of Layers

One thing I love is that it allows you to be creative and I love using my stash.  The first 30 minute challenge was to make a summer card with 2 to 5 flowers. Use buttons and bling to accent your flowers.  I very seldom use my embossing folders.

The second 30 minute challenge was to use sewing stamps as the focal image, colors the stamped image and add pearls or bling.  Well 45 minutes was given for this challenge.  I got a chance to use my stamps from Crafty Secrets that I won from a challenge.  I'll be playing with them a bit more.

The third 30 minute challenge was to use a dress form as the focal image. Embellish with buttons and bows. I LOVE playing with dress forms.  It takes me back to my childhood days LOL.  This die cut is from Stampin Up. Now I'm sure you can understand when I say we had  "SEW" much fun!

NSD 2014

This was my first time ever celebrating NSD alone.  I had a totally wonderful day.  My goals were posted on Scraps of Color blog to 1) Complete a Design Team project, 2) Make 10 mini album kits, 3) Alter two picture frames, 4) Make 20 cards from my stash, 5) Mail cards to Sunshine Mail, 6) Play with paint, and 7) Post my day!  Well what had happen was...lol.    The mini albums came in handy when 10 graduates from our Delta GEMS program were having their ceremony.  This mini tag album ended up being their gift. I altered one frame which was my DT project at Scraps of Color E:Spire, which I played with paint.  I made only two cards that were requested and my Sunshine Mail is postal! Check out each tag.  I was inspired by Frilly and Funkie. The mini tag album is all put together towards the end.

Got my hands in a little mixed media with this one.  I sweet old lady once told me to keep a song in my heart and a Psalm in my mind so I wanted to pass that on to them.   The sheet music is from my church bulletin.
Putting all the pieces together for the kits......It was right on time and easy to prepare.

Each stack ready to be put together and delivered.

Here they are all put together with a binder ring and a pretty red ribbon.  It is my prayer that the graduates are inspired with the positive messages as they enter into the new chapter of their life.  I Remember When...

Now for the icing on the cake....Well cupcakes.  I was craving for a healthy sweet treat.  In between all the crafty fun, I baked some sweet potato bran muffins!  This is the batter. Oooey Gooey and Yummy for my Tummy.
This is the set up.  You know I had to make them special.  NSD is an Awesome Day to Celebrate! Right?

And the end result!  I topped them off with a homemade streusel. Now I need to do a layout and include the recipe.  I'll be sure to make them again.

I apologize for the long post, but how can you shorten such a fun filled NSD day!

Sewing Room

Hello,
Actually I'm in my scrapbook room sharing a card I made for Crafts4eternity R#131.  Their theme this week is Sewing Room and I had everything accept my sewing machine. (It's still in the box lol)  I was inspired when I saw Evie's take on the challenge.  I love working with dress forms and it's been a while so this is my creation using a MOJO301 sketch.  The scripture is from Psalm 139:14 --  "I will praise thee:  for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:  marvelous are they works; and that my soul knoweth right well."
Receipe ingredients:
Stampin Up dress form die cut
Recollections True & Authentic paper
Websters Pages  Your Life. Beautiful paper & stick pin
Adornaments fiber
Michaels sewing ribbon

Close ups of my fiber, button, and sewing ribbon

Close ups of my dress & stick pin.  The dress is made from tulle for corsages.
