Denim mini album with Pearls and Lace

This Denim, Pearls and Lace mini album is my Design Team project for Scraps of Color E:spire.  I used my old Levi jeans and designed it using a 6x6 chipboard album.  It's layered with pearls and lace and other goodies all from my stash.  Hope you are inspired.

Below are views inside the album and back cover.
The flowers on the right are Make Market flowers from Micheal's.
The Denim flower on the right was cut with Tim Holtz die cut.  Both pages are interactive for photos.
The interactive page on the right is similar to a gate way fold.
Another Tim Holtz die cut flower creation adding a little burlap.
Hope you enjoyed the view.  Now I'm trying to find ways of using the leftover denim.

Products used:
Authentique Curiosity Collection paper stack
Hancock fabrics - Lace and fiber
Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die cut
Prima flowers & crochet icons
Make Market flowers by Michaels
Heidi Grace chipboard hearts
Anna Griffin edge punches
EK Success mini flower punch

Recollection pearls

Mama Minnie's Kitchen

Happy Mother's Day!  I wanted to share my crafty gift to my mother affectionately known as "Mama Minnie".  She has always cooked Sunday dinner and cooks for the entire family on Thanksgiving.  I decided to alter a chalkboard easel as my Design Team project for Scraps of Color E:spire.
This is a close up view with Chef Pheobe digital by Robert Jackson.  The stick sentiment is by Basic Grey.
Finally got to use my silverware by Jolee.  When I alter an item I try to use whats in my stash.  My mother decorates for weddings and parties, that's why I added the lace.

You may remember the mini chalk board easels I made the first of the year for my aunts.  I didn't do one for my mother because I already had something else in mind and I made it happen for Mothers Day.

Can't wait to take it to her.  Enjoy your mother and if she's gone to be with the Lord, cherish the memories!

EMPIRE featuring Bryshere Y. Gray

We are in our 3rd week continuing the EMPIRE Take Over Challenge at Scraps of Color featuring Bryshere Y. Gray.  He’s better known as Hakeem, the youngest son of Lucious and Cookie Lyons.  The challenge at SOC was to use the color gold and music notes in our projects.  I used gold Stickles and sheet music in both cards.

The second card is a tribute to “Black Girls Rock”.  What an Amazing show Sunday evening.  India Arie and Janelle Monae  are also images by Robert Jackson that I added with Hakeem.  Robert Jackson can ROCK a digi image!  Don’t you think?  This was also my Design Team project for Scraps of Color E:Spire. I challenged the readers to be an inspiration to the girls in their community and create something from the heART.  It can be a card, tag, canvas, whatever.  'A creative girl is a genius.'

Sisterhood Month

This is my Design Team post for Scraps of Color E:spire.  My sorority Delta Sigma Theta celebrates Sisterhood the entire month of March.  We have a calendar filled with events to fellowship, reclaim, and perform kind gestures.  It’s so great to reach out to a sister, especially one you don’t normally see or hear from.  Although we have many programs for the community, we end the month with a special activity just for us to focus on our physical, mental and spiritual well being.  I love my sorority.  Oh just to be a Delta Girl.

Supplies:
Royal Langnickel Violet and Lemon Yellow watercolor ink
Kimberly watercolor pencils
Ranger Ink - Gold acrylic paint
Americana acrylic paint
Making Memories sticky mesh
Recollections wacky tape
Prima flowers
Recollection bling

Close up of symbols

Flowers were colored with Violet watercolor paint and centered with Lemon yellow.

Love making the pyramids!

Thanks for stopping by.  I welcome your comments.

GO RED FOR WOMEN!

This is my Design Team post for Scraps of Color E:Spire.  I'm making tags for my sorority sisters of Delta Sigma Theta and decided I would add a few digital images by Robert Jackson on them for inspiration.  Tags are a joy to make and the perfect opportunity to use my scraps.  The first one was inspired by National Go Red For Women Month!  I tried on three red suits today.  The first one said, "Really", the second said, "I'm uncomfortable", and the third said, "Yes".  I immediately got my exercise tape out and worked out!  Time out for excuses.

This tag was inspired by GO RED FOR WOMEN!  I want to be healthy and exercise is a priority.

Sharing some embellishments I'm using to make my next batch of tags.  I recycle African American stamps I receive to use for Black History month projects.  They always come in handy.

Keep it Together During the Christmas Season

Had a little fun with this Design Team project for Scraps of Color E:Spire.  I've got a lot on my plate.  It's the Holiday Season and Christmas is just around the corner.  With only so many hours in the day and deadlines to meet I had to get a system to stay on track.  I made these refrigerator magnets to keep in view.  They are Robert Jackson's digital images.

Mema's Crafts Celebrate the Holidays

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, but it continues on to Christmas.  Hope you join us at Mema's Crafts as we Celebrate the Holidays.  When you make your projects and cards for the holidays, link them at our December Challenge.  We have two themes:  "Celebrate the Holidays" and "Cold Winter Days".  Our sponsors are Bugaboo and Stitchy Bear. I was going to make a tag, but I had requests for Christmas ornaments for the tree.  This is Girlz Christmas Present by Bugaboo.

This image was perfect for my activity books for the children.  This is Criss Cross image to the left by Stitchy Bear and you can find it here.  The answers to the puzzle is to the right.

Butterfly Kisses

I would like to share my Design Team post for Scraps of Color Espire with you.  I altered a large paper mache mail box from Hobby Lobby.  My soror Vanecia Kimbrow was in mind after sharing an amazing testimony of Living with Lupus featured in Southern Soul magazine - October 2014 edition.  She's a vibrant young lady and busy as a bee,  although she evolves like a butterfly.  That was the inspiration behind the mailbox. Of course purple is the color ribbon for Lupus. Maybe she'll put all of her happy mail in it while she continues to be encouraged and "Keep it Moving".

Recipe Ingredients:
Die Cut with a View - Floral Foliage stack
Deco Art Regal Purple - acrylic paint
QuicKutz - Butterfly Die cut
Martha Stewart - Butterfly punches
Fiskars - paper trimmer
Hancock Fabrics lace
Michael's- feathers
Prima - bling
Spare Part - Flowers
Recollections - Purple shimmer mist, Orchid stickles, flowers

Love you Vanecia!

Sunshine Mail & the Winner of SOC Blog Hop

Sunshine Mail coming to some sweet girls at the foundation.  This is 'Stephanie Brings Surprises'.  I printed nine images and they all have different colored outfits.  It's so easy to send several in one large envelope. You don't need individual envelopes.  The foundation hand delivers them.  They prefer that you not send get well, birthday, religious or holiday.  No loose glitter or confetti.  Make sure you sign the inside with your first name and state. How sweet is that?!  My design is by Card Map.  I needed something quick and easy.

Tic Tac Toe at Memascrafts

Come join us at Memascrafts for an old favorite game.  I used every element from the Tic Tac Toe board on my card using sweet little Oisi digi stamp from Stitchy Bear's Digital.   First row: Lace/Brads/Digital.  Second row: Flowers/Bling/Glitter(from the paper and in her bow).  Third row: Edge punch/faux stitches/dry embossing. Die Cut with a View Lemon Flower paper stack was used for all my projects.  Check out the bottle toppers below.

I selected Girlz Coffee from Bugaboo Digital Stamps for my bottle toppers.  MMMmmm I think I need to perk up with a little tea in my cup right now.
This link will take you straight to Memas Craft October challenge and you can see the other Design Team members creations as well as our Guest Designer.  Can't wait to see what you create using the Tic Tac Toe board. For the first topper I used the middle row:  Doily/Pearls/Glitter.  For the second topper I used the first row Ribbon/Button/Digital.

Sunshine Mail Anything Goes

Imagine That Digital Stamps is our sponsor at Sunshine Mail to help bring a smile to a child's face. I have the opportunity of creating with a cute golf digi theme to wish them a TEE-rific day! Outlines are included, but I chose to use the colored digi.  It was perfect, because I was short on time.  Here's Pink for a girl and Blue for a boy. How cool is that!

Look at the possibilities of creating with this set.  Thank you Imagine This Digital!
You can find their site here or at the top.
