New Beginnings at Twist of Faith

When I saw this image by Robert Jackson it immediately took me back to those days when deacons in the church would bow down on their knees and pray unto the Lord.    One of our associate pastors mentioned religion vs. relationship in his pastoral message and it's stuck with me for a while.  It's enough to say we are Christians, but we have to study His Word.  Then we will develop that relationship with him.   At Twist of Faith we are having a 'New Beginnings - Anything Goes' challenge.  I don't care to make New Year Resolutions or promises that I seldom keep.  My goal is to read the bible in it's entirety in 2014.  It is my prayer that I stay focused with the One Day Bible and read with understanding. The scripture I added to this card is powerful and comes from Proverbs 4:1-7.  Hope you join us this week.

Mini Album Card of Memories

Hope you join our “Your Favorite” challenge this week, which could be your favorite scripture, image, color or technique at Twist of Faith. My favorite is ‘Mini Albums’ so my card is a ‘Mini Album Card of Memories’.  My focused has been solely on cards since I send them out as Courtesy chair for my sorority, but I need to find the time for memory making.  I remember when I made my first Christmas album and shared it at our family Christmas breakfast for two years straight.  It was the highlight reminiscing the moments in time and I haven’t had it back since.  Well there will be no excuse this year being my nephews’ first Christmas, I’ve got to capture the memories and make his album.  As I pulled some Christmas photos out I came across some photos which were in 1998 & 1999.  Fortunately I had these packaged by date.  So you are looking at a ‘Mini Album Card’…My favorite.   I want to thank Milk Coffee for the trim the tree image. My mother’s Christmas tradition is trimming trees so this card will be going to her for Christmas.

Our sponsor MilkCoffee will be giving our winner five images and they are adorable!   Come share and don’t forget to mention “Your Favorite” in your post as well as our ‘Twist of Faith’ ….your card must include a scripture, verse or quote that is encouraging, uplifting or inspiring.   Let me share some views of my Mini Album Card!

Joy to the World

Sing with me, "Joy To The World" the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, And heav'n and nature sing, And heav'n and nature sing, And heav'n and heav'n and nature sing.  Did it bring a smile to your face?  Every worship we open with a congregational song from the hymn book and this is the song of the month.  Joy To The World! I love this image by Melonheadz and she's rewarding one bundle of her cute images.  We would love for you to join us in this week's "Nativity" challenge, but don't forget the "Twist of Faith" ...it must include an uplifting, healing, inspirational and/or scripture on the card.  Be sure to stop by and see what the other Design Team created.  You'll be inspired!

Christmas Blessings

It's Tuesday and time for another Twist of Faith card challenge. Challenge #67 is all about the traditional Christmas.  Our church worships at Ashton Nursing Home every Sunday afternoon, but the Sunday before Christmas we bless them with bags of warm fuzzy blankets, robes, socks, etc.  Our mother fills the home with Christmas decors all over the house.  We attend Sunrise Worship and the entire Jones family get together Christmas morning for breakfast, fun, fellowship, memory lane and photo shots.  So....what's your tradition(s)?
Create a card and don't forget to include a scripture, uplifting quote/sentiments or positive verse in order to be considered for the random prize. Our sponsor is Robyn's Fetish and she is awarding five digital images! Now let's check out my card. My uplifting quote is "Christmas Blessings". That's what I wish to you.

Season's Greetings

I bring you Season's Greetings from Twist of Faith card challenges featuring Digi Darla's Christmas Bells & Garland digi image.  Bells are ringing Christmas Joy.  I used solid card stock to compliment the colors from my Bic Mark-it markers.  My sweet scrappy sister Tamika gifted me one holiday season with these markers and I absolutely love them.  They come in a small case and they are easy to carry along.

Recipe:
Card Stock
Bic Mark it markers
Martha Stewart edge punch
Stickles
Hobby Lobby ribbon

Sure hope you join us this week at Twist of Faith card challenges for our Baubles and Bells theme.  I just want to remind you to use your uplifting, healing, inspiration or scripture.

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" — which means, "God with us."

Oh Give Thanks

Hello Blog Friends...It's the Season of Thanksgiving!.  Oh give thanks to the LORD for He is good.  Be sure to join us over at Twist of Faith card challenges this week as We Give Thanks!  As always don't forget the 'Twist of Faith' you must include a positive or uplifting scripture, sentiment, or quote.  Our sponsor is Eureka and I'm using 'Harvest Bouquet' and who doesn't love receiving flowers?  Since some people are allergic to flowers this card serves the same purpose, but these flowers  last longer! I believe we should give our beloved friends and family the flowers while they live instead of when they die.  Tell someone how much you love them and follow it up with  a floral card.  They will love it!

In Remembrance

It's Tuesday and time for our Twist of Faith card challenge.  This weeks challenge is "In Remembrance" with the Twist of Faith to include a scripture,  verse or quote that is encouraging, uplifting or inspiring. I'm encouraging my receiver to Keep Looking Up.  When I saw Digi Darla's birdhouse flower pot, I thought about singing birds and pulled out my Martha Stewart punches to create my scene. I pulled out gel pens that I haven't used since I purchased them years ago and colored the image!  My goal was to create a CAS card......well I tried.

Recipe:
Digi Darla - birdhouse flower pot image
Martha Stewart tools- bird & fence edge punches and fringe scissors
Recollection - flowers
The Craft Lounge - sparkly fluff
Gel pens
This is a close up of the Brown Sugar Sparklyfluff I added to the house to make it look natural and I also added some to the bottom of the grass that I made using my Martha Stewart fringe scissors.

Hope you join us this week.

My first Card/Envelope packet

Hi it's Tuesday and time for my Design Team post at Twist of Faith card challenges. I don't know about you, but I LOVE opening my mailbox to find a handmade card with love! Sure hope you stop by and check out the creativity from our Design Team and play this week! That's what we did.  We made a Postcard or Card with an Envelope Packet. I got a chance to make my first envelope using the We R Memory envelope punch given by my Scrappy friend Regina! Our sponsor is StampArt Design by Kathryn and I'm using Ari & Toby. It's raining love and birthday wishes.  By the way the winner will receive 4 of her images!!!

Recipe:
Digital image and sentiment from StampArt Design by Kathryn
SEI chocolat collection papers
SEI sweetie ribbon
Bic Mark it markers
Spellbinder dies
Recollection brads & buttons
We R Memory envelope punch board

Look at Ari and Toby aren't they the cutest.

To use my scraps, I took the spellbinder negative after I cut it and used it for the inside and added the sentiment by StampArt Design by Kathryn. Her sentiments were an added treat. Love the double-sided paper by SEI chocolat collection.
Don't forget to use the 'Twist of Faith' with Challenge #61 Postcard/Card & Envelope Packet. Use a scripture, quote or uplifting sentiment. After you finish the challenge it will be ready to bless someone special!

Let us not be weary in well doing

My apologies for the delay in posting.  There have been so many sudden deaths in the families of my circle of friends. I got distracted from posting to make sympathy cards that I so  seldom make along with calls and visits.  This is my Design Team entry for Twist of Faith card challenge for this week’s posting with a ‘Harvest’ Theme.  You still have time to enter!  The scripture spoke to my heart as I created the card.

Let the Wise Listen

This week’s challenge is “Things with Wings” at Twist of Faith card challenges.
You should check out our new sponsor DeeDee’s Digi’s.  The image I originally selected caught my eye, but it wasn’t until I was getting ready to create today’s project it had nothing to do with wings.  Since she’s our gracious sponsor I couldn’t let her down so I selected “Falling For You Owl”  which is actually one of her freebies.  You should check out her site. I've got a few more on my list.
Hope you will join us this week with butterflies, birds, angels or anything with wings.  Stop by and see what the other Design Team members created.  Don’t forget the ‘Twist of adding a scripture or uplifting verse/quote or positive words of healing, encouragement or support’.  It will be sure to warm someone’s heart.  My printer was out of ink so I handwrote my scripture.  By the way it's Proverbs 1:5.

Autumn Colors

Welcome Autumn!  It's my favorite time of the year.  Love those breezy days and cool nights....not too hot...not too cold.  Most of all I love the beautiful colors, especially with the changing of the leaves.  God's beauty is amazing and so is He.  Join us at Twist of Faith for our weekly card challenge.  The theme is 'Autumn Colors' with the 'Twist of Faith' including a  scripture verse or quote that is encouraging, uplifting and inspiring. Milk Coffee is our sponsor this week and they are giving FIVE digi images  to our winner!   Soya is the cutest little pumpkin already enjoying the Autumn season!  I cut the pumpkin card by hand using some orange cardstock from Archivers.   Watercolor markers were used to form the shape of the card and to color the digi .

Twist of Faith Card Challenges

I'm excited to announce my first post as a Design Team member for Twist of Faith.  Let's get Sketchy is our challenge this week and I hope you join us.  Bugaboo Stamps is the sponsor and I chose 'Wee One Boy Angel'.  You can win 'Seven' digital images!  It's something about a rainbow that makes me burst out with creativity.  While visiting Hawaii, a rainbow was  an everyday occurence so I get excited whenever I use a rainbow theme.  I selected ink from the various colors of the rainbow and inked on glossy paper diagonally as my background.  I used strips of ribbon as my banners and matted them with white card stock.  I took a Stampin Up cloud embossing folder and cut them out accenting with stickles.  My cute little digi is colored with Bic-Mark it markers, Spectrum Noir, glossy accents and stickles.  The sentiment by Studio g was inked with various colors also.  Sure hope I've brighten your day!

Don't forget the twist is this sketch

and the card must be uplifting, healing, inspirational, and/or scriptural card.  Hope to see your card in our challenge.  Be sure to stop by and check out the other Design Team members take on the sketch!
