This is my third post over at Word Art Wednesday as Guest Designer in January. It has been a pleasure creating for such an inspirational blog of wonderful designers. Karen is such a blessing and joy. We've only communicated via email, but I feel like I know her as if we've met each other in person. Just talking about the goodness of God brings me joy. I can't imagine my life without Him. It's amazing how God brings people in your life. I'll cherish our friendship for a life time. Psalm 40:5 reminds me of a journal I completed one year, noting only positive moments that happened within the day. I still go back to the journal, because it reminds me if He did it once He will do it again and He has done marvelous things. I just can't name them all!!!

50th Wedding Anniversary
This was a team effort. My mother covered the boxes and together we designed this gift box for a dear couple. It's their 50th Wedding Anniversary and the colors are black, gold and cream. They were extremely pleased and that made our hearts glad!
This is a close up of the topper. I painted it gold and included a Robert Jackson digital that I colored of this cute couple. The numbers are gold stickers. My mother added the ribbon and tulle.

Altered Gift for my Crafty Friend
We had an Altered Gift swap at Scraps of Color. My partner was Mary Joyce who loves animal print and the color orange. I altered a wooden jewelry box from Michaels. This is my creation. I pulled out some Animal print paper from Creative Memories. It was the perfect selection. This was so therapeutic. I think I might get another one to play with.

Mary Joyce preferences was animal print and the color orange is her favorite.
Robert Jackson image...Card created and a beautiful set of orange flowers
The jewelry box was filled with embellishments and a Unity stamp set instead of jewelry
The black really defined it.
Loving the hardware.
Box mark/tag using a Unity stamp for my friend
Animal print paper. My sister loves bling!
I always have to have everything down before I get started.

Sharing the LOVE
I’ve been busy in the craft studio preparing for a Scrapbook tea that was hosted by one of my former Sunday School students and sorority sister. Her name is La Tondra Lewis also a 20+ year Breast Cancer Survivor. Her lovely home was filled with tea sets. I’m so proud of her gifts that she uses to support others. I’m sharing a tag I made using a Bug-A-Boo image and also reading the Scrapbook Prayer I wrote and put on my craft studio sign.
Our Young Women Association sisters had to bring 10 gifts for Pink Sunday to give to our survivors. Being the crafty person that I am, it's just hard to purchase something at the store when I can create with a lot of LOVE. Such great therapy!!! The easels were on sale at Michaels for $10 packaged in 6. Everything else was in my stash. Was that a bargain or what including my 20% off including sale prices?! Michael's made my day!

Daniel Fast
I've joined the Daniel Fast. My cousin asked me to start one week later so she would have a prayer partner and I called my soror to join so we three are having a great start in the Lord in 2018! I haven't been tempted eating outside fruits and vegetables. Prayers have already been answered! The altered journal was designed to write notes of my journey of how the Lord blessed, scriptures including personal notes to the Lord, and my meal plan. My word for 2018 is PEACE. Yes PEACE within and PEACE in the world. Lord have mercy.....The tag I made for my journal is evidence of the word.

African Violet Burlap Wreath
My "Delta" mother went to glory on my birthday. It still doesn't seem real, but I know she is helping God run things in heaven. She and my mother were the same age and had the same morals and discipline. Ma Mildred as she was affectionately called, was a wise woman and full of knowledge in Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She was a beautiful soul, always giving, and teaching and checking to make sure all things were "Decent and In Order". This wreath was suppose to go on the door of a session she was going to teach at our reclamation after we heard of her sudden death. I finally finished it.
Our Reclamation was a cowboy theme and I have photos of the table decors to share with you. My Crafty sisters Rhoda, Nicole and Samantha came to my rescue to help assist with completing the table decors for the event. This is what we started with. All purchased from Michael's.

Hope you enjoyed the visit here. Your comments are certainly encouraging.
I will be sure to stop by your blog and leave a little love as well. Happy Paper Crafting!

My Art Angel
Although paper crafting is my first preference, I sometimes play around with paint. I checked out Tiare's 'My Art Angel' online class featured on Embrace Our Art. It was fun and I got so carried away I couldn't sleep. We were to add a heart and one word. My word is faith. One of my sorority sister's gifted me with a few crafty items since she was not using them. One of the items was a blank canvas mini purse measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. This is my creation and I can't wait to wear it! Now I have to figure out what I will paint on the other side.

Altered Journals
Hello Papercrafters!
I wanted to share what I made for our Young Women's Association mission at church. Today was our Annual Prayer Breakfast and it was held at my home this year. I SO love this Women's ministry and we have a close bond. God has seen us through many challenges and our faith in Him has grown tremendously. I purchased composition books from the Dollar Tree and altered them with scraps. Yes I had a box of scraps and was about to throw them out while organizing and the thought came to my mind....Create journals! They all had the same components, but designed a bit different: Two patterned papers, a strip, a tag shape, birdcage, doily, scripture, sheet music (from our church programs), bling, and a flourish. The stamps are from Unity and Our Daily Bread Designs. Each sister read their scripture and it spoke volumes to their spirit! We had a high time in the Lord! Our challenge is to journal something good that happens each day. At our next mission, we will share. God is Good...Just couldn't keep it to myself!!! Be blessed...

Grateful
Grateful is how I feel. While on my job I came across a young Christian man with an inspiring business. He had a pile of acrylic plates that were going to be thrown away. He was wondering how he could recycle the items. Somehow I felt I could create something with them. Fortunately some had four holes on the edges and immediately scrapbook album came to mind. The size of it is a bit odd (8 x 15), but I managed to make it work. By the way, he shared the sentiment with me. It's a wooden 2 x 3 1/2 wooden block that he also created. My scrapbooking sister in my circle created his business logo on an acrylic piece from her Cameo. I can't wait to share what we created with him.

Denim mini album with Pearls and Lace
This Denim, Pearls and Lace mini album is my Design Team project for Scraps of Color E:spire. I used my old Levi jeans and designed it using a 6x6 chipboard album. It's layered with pearls and lace and other goodies all from my stash. Hope you are inspired.
The Denim flower on the right was cut with Tim Holtz die cut. Both pages are interactive for photos.
The interactive page on the right is similar to a gate way fold.
Another Tim Holtz die cut flower creation adding a little burlap.
Hope you enjoyed the view. Now I'm trying to find ways of using the leftover denim.
Below are views inside the album and back cover.
The flowers on the right are Make Market flowers from Micheal's.The Denim flower on the right was cut with Tim Holtz die cut. Both pages are interactive for photos.

Mama Minnie's Kitchen
Happy Mother's Day! I wanted to share my crafty gift to my mother affectionately known as "Mama Minnie". She has always cooked Sunday dinner and cooks for the entire family on Thanksgiving. I decided to alter a chalkboard easel as my Design Team project for Scraps of Color E:spire.
This is a close up view with Chef Pheobe digital by Robert Jackson. The stick sentiment is by Basic Grey.
Finally got to use my silverware by Jolee. When I alter an item I try to use whats in my stash. My mother decorates for weddings and parties, that's why I added the lace.
You may remember the mini chalk board easels I made the first of the year for my aunts. I didn't do one for my mother because I already had something else in mind and I made it happen for Mothers Day.
Can't wait to take it to her. Enjoy your mother and if she's gone to be with the Lord, cherish the memories!

My Mini Altered Chalkboard Easels
This is my Design Team post for Scraps of Color E:spire. While I was going through my stash I found some 3D stickers I wanted to get rid of since I've had them over 10 years. I did what I call a 'Drive By' at Michaels which means I walk around the entire store to see what's new with no intention to purchase anything. Walking down the $1.50 aisle I saw some mini chalkboard easels and they were the perfect choice to use them for! The receiver will receive two pieces of chalk wrapped in jute.
