Happy Holidays

Hope everyone’s Christmas was Merry and Bright.  I had an AWESOME Christmas remembering the Savior who came so that I may have life more abundantly!  For some reason I always put too much on myself during this time.  I’ve had two scrapbooking workshops and two scrapbooks to complete for Christmas gifts.  Can’t wait to post photos of the workshops.  Everyone had so much fun making memories!  I’ve been dragging my feet on getting my computer up and running that’s why I haven’t been posting lately.  That’s my goal before the NEW YEAR.
Didn’t want to miss the opportunity to wish everyone Happy Holidays and don’t forget to make it a KODAK moment!!!

My 1st toilet paper roll mini

Here's a project I've been wanting to play around with for a while and it only took about an hour to complete.  This is my first attempt and I love how it turned out using the cute Little Yellow bicycle pp and embellies.  The ribbon and fiber is from my stash.

Looking forward to making my next one, which will be distressed using lots of techniques.  Stay tuned!

You can insert a picture in the frame on the left

The paper is actually like a match cover so you insert photos.

So much to be THANKFUL for!

Everyday is a day of Thanksgiving!  I give Praise to GOD for life and I don’t take it lightly.  I’m trying to work on procrastination, because every second counts. Everyone is asking me what I want for Christmas.  I already have it! ...Food, clothes, shelter, good health, my talents, and my family & friends who love me.  Speaking of friends, this is the card I made for Scraps of Color Friday nite chat challenge.  The sentiment reads:  “Like the flowers and the bee great friends are we”.

Used chalk pencils

Here's a close up of the 3D effect on the daisy and bee.
Hope you can see the sparkly fluff

I Love Making 'Mini' Memories

Someone has an obsession with mini albums.  I admit I really do LOVE to make them so I created a layout of my collection on my shelf.

Below are over 50 paperbag mini albums I put together for The Sharin & Carin' Breast Cancer survivors to make memories of their families as well as their journey.  What lovely ladies...They inspire me and each year I look forward to memory making with them.

My scrappy friend Mika sent me these minis except for the small 7 gypsies mini which was sent by my scrappy friend Sharon.  Can't wait to create!  They make great gifts so I believe I'll be making a few for Christmas!

ATC card giveaway for Breast Cancer Survivors

I participated in an ATC give-a-way at Scraps of Color.  They will be received by Breast Cancer Survivors. We were asked to make only five, however, I can go on and on and on.  It'a wonderful way to use your scraps for someone who will treasure them.

They are cute to make as cards too!

Image to Create on Scraps of Color

Enjoyed being the guest hostess for Friday nite 30 minute card chat challenge over at Scraps of Color.  Mary Joyce sent the image for all to create before 11:00pm and then the challenges begin at 8:00pm. This is the card I created with the image. It had so many cute details.  It seems to be a bit dark.  I need brighter and bolder color markers.
We wrapped it up around midnight.  Check out my creations....I was a tid bit slow because I either broke my toe or dislocated it last Thursday. Slowly but surely I got around my scrapbook room to create.  No I already know what you are going to ask. I did not go to the doctor.  I’m a ‘bad’ patient.  I put a splint on it and wrapped it tight with tape. A physical therapist and nurse took a look at it and gave the same advice. : )

Friday Nite Challenge at Scraps of Color

What a FUN nite from 6:30pm-11:30pm on SOC making four cards while chatting with some awesome friends.   It started with a challenge from Mary Joyce to design a card from the three ladies making it funny.  After seeing the last lady with the peace sign. I thought of Love, Peace and Soul from Soultrain.  Didn't want to cut them out individually and separate so I came up with Love, Joy & Peace baby!  Had a lot of fun designing their outfits and thought the perfect paperpack to use was Basic Grey Lime Rickey.
Products used:
Basic Grey Lime Rickey pp
Copic marker
Marvy LePlume II markers
Bling
Hero Arts alphabet stamps

We moved on to our Friday nite 30 minute card challenge  hosted by Renee
The 1st challenge was to use black & white, ribbon, button, flower, stamped image or sentiment.   It took me about 40 minutes. I double matted the stamped image and cut out the popcorn & bottle using pop dots to adhere to the card.  I tied two different black & white ribbon to the striped one.
Products used:
Hanna  stamps - Cslumber
PaperStudio flower
Ribbons from Hobby Lobby

The 2nd challenge was to make a masculine birthday card.  It took me about 45 minutes.  I pulled from my stash and took more time to give it a distressed look by inking the edges, cutting out the stars, and working with the cardboard.  I love the way it all came together.
Products used:
Scrappy Cat clear stamps - Birthday Wishes
The rest is scraps from my stash including the cardboard

The 3rd challenge was to make a card using an animal for a childs birthday.  Finally a card I made within 30 minutes.  I think I got the swing of it now!  If I had more time I would have embossed the owl.  Instead I used stickles to make it pop and inked the edges and background.

Products used:
We R Memory Keepers pp
Inkadinado stamps
American Crafts thickers - daiquiri
Stickles - crystal and black diamond

Thanks for looking!

I just love the bird cage....The embossing folder is by Cuttlebug. The stamp from Stampin UP!

This layout was created for a challenge  found on http://scrapsofcolor.ning.com/.  I love to teach and encourage others.  My journaling in the middle by the tag reads: 'Gratitude is the memory of the HEART' and the bottom reads:  'Whatever you do, do all to the glory of GOD. I Corinthians 10:31'.

Education is hanging around until you've caught on.-- Robert Frost

It's the first post on my blog!  I've been putting it off for much too long.  Can't wait to share my creations and meet others who share my same passion.
