Junior's canvas

This canvas was painted for my nephews room.  I can't wait until he visits us so he can play in the craft studio.  I'm going to try and teach him some techniques. He's only four, but he's smart.  Can't wait to see what he creates.  Check out the close ups below.  My next project will be printing his photos so I can catch up with  his scrapbook album.

My mother thought the canvas was wood.  I had to show her the technique.  Acrylic paint was used on some of the chipboard letters to bring in the colors of the paper by DCWV paper stack All About Boys/Sports.

I'm loving the embellishments I used.  Some are VERY old.  I used stickers, metals and paper stack.

This photo was taken when he was two years old.  He loved to travel with his basketball.
The photo is attached to the two clothes pins so we can up date it with new photos.

He's learning this scripture.  The OCD in me was upset that the scripture wasn't centered so I had to include some star stickers to balance it off.  I might work on it again just to balance it off.  Anytime I can, I love to use my handwriting.

Check out these old embellishments!  I purchased them years ago.  The sentiment was from a scrapbook convention back in the day.  The metal was at  Michaels back in the day.  I love the textures from the cheesecloth and templates.

The Best of Friends

Do you have a friend that you haven't talked to in a while, but when you finally get together you have to catch up on old times?  I have one.  She's too funny and I love her.  We've been friends since elementary school.  We have to catch up on the family and see how everyone is.  I used this gateway fold card to send to her.  I'm going to enclosed an old photo of us.

I'm playing along with Paper Play Sketches.  I've been trying to use my papers and have been heavy on the layering.  My scrappy friend Shirley asked us on Scraps of Color shared a challenge with a twist. With the first letter of our name, use items that start with the letter of your first name.  My name is 'P'rincess.  I used pattern papers, paper clip, pearls, paint, punches and Paper Play Sketch.

MOJO Monday Fever

Ever had an opportunity to use all your scraps with a card sketch?  That's exactly what I did using the rest of my My Minds Eye 6x6 Collectable paper pad.  MOJO Monday made it easy with their sketch. I added some cute little digis I colored and they are ready for mailing to brighten someone's day.

MOJO 495

Love getting in the groove making cards with the help of MOJO Monday.  I'm trying hard to use the stash I have before I go out and purchase another item.  It began May 1st, but yesterday (May 2nd) I manage to stop at Tuesday Morning and couldn't resist Pebbles Basics Cardmaking Pad 2.  I'm going to see how long I can endure for the rest of the month lol.  I pulled out Prima Time Traveler's Memories 6x6 papers, Recollection flowers and bling then added a little cheese cloth to create this card.
