Sharing the LOVE

I’ve been busy in the craft studio preparing for a Scrapbook tea that was hosted by one of my former Sunday School students and sorority sister.  Her name is La Tondra Lewis also a 20+ year Breast Cancer Survivor.  Her lovely home was filled with tea sets. I’m so proud of her gifts that she uses to support others. I’m sharing a tag I made using a Bug-A-Boo image and also reading the Scrapbook Prayer I wrote and put on my craft studio sign.

Our Young Women Association sisters had to bring 10 gifts for Pink Sunday to give to our survivors.  Being the crafty person that I am, it's just hard to purchase something at the store when I can create with a lot of LOVE.  Such great therapy!!!  The easels were on sale at Michaels for $10 packaged in 6. Everything else was in my stash.  Was that a bargain or what including my 20% off including sale prices?!  Michael's made my day!

Simply packaged with a chalk wrapped in ribbon.

NCD with Unity Stamps

My Saturday was busy, but not too busy to make three cards for National Cardmaking Day!  I had a recent purchase with Unity Stamps and below are my three creations.  The first card has lots of layers just like the fall season. I'm looking forward to the cool temperatures! The second card is one of many I am making for my Breast Cancer Survivors. The third card reflects support.  I'm so thankful for my support of friends.  Blessings to you my friend!

Friday Night Chat Fun

We had so much fun at Scraps of Color for our Friday Night Chat Challenge.  Yours truly was the hostess and the theme was Black and White with a pop of Color.  We used Tuesday Mornings Sketch for the Main Challenge and here's my take on it.  Below are the other two challenges, which they had 30 minutes to create and post.

Challenge 1  Your project should be Black and White only using five different elements: (i.e. die cut, edge punch, fiber, ribbon, lace, bling, flowers, metal, embossing folder, button, eyelet, etc)  Sentiment is optional
Challenge 2 Your project should be Black and White with a pop of color

Featured at Color Throwdown

How excited was I to be featured as the Guest Star Stamper at Color Throwdown! When I saw the color scheme I thought about water coloring, which I haven't done in a while.  Don't you just love challenges?  They allow me to reach in to products I haven't used in a while or try a different technique.  The stamps used are by Rubber Stamper (image) and Lizzie Anne (sentiment).

Hope you take time and play at Color Throwdown!

Shaker Crazy

Just call me 'Shaker Crazy', but at least I'm using my crafty goodies!!!  I had fun in the craft studio.  My mother requested some thank you notes for those who blessed her during her sisters death.  I realized after making the first batch of six cards that the scripture missed the word  'your' between into and lap.  Don't you hate when that happens?   Well you know I had to correct them right?   The overlay of the butterfly is vellum.     It's a simple card, but I love the design. Embossing powder was used for the sentiment.

Photo Selfie Frames

Graduation Season has come and gone and it's time for trunk parties. TeTe Princess had a request for selfie frames!
Hali is a graduate of The Central High and on her way to Clark Atlanta University. She is my motivational speaker headed for law school.  The board was painted black and paste was used to add templates for texture.

Phillip didn't want the girlie look so I had to keep his clean.  I took out my markers to draw musical notes.  My crafty friend Samantha made the tuba using her Silhouette. Phillip is a graduate of Houston High and is on his way to Tennessee State University.  If you ever watch the band at halftime, he'll be playing the tuba in the Aristocrat band. He is my gifted musician.

They make me proud....from babies to college graduates.  The sky is the limit for these two!!!!

Embellishment Box Swap

It's a Parade of Embellishment Boxes at Scraps of Color.  This box was made for my partner Christa Stokes.  She creates the cutest layouts! Along with the Embellishment box, we had to make two handmade embellishments and mine were altered paper clips and an envelope with a few goodies.  Well since I couldn't put all the goodies in the envelope, I just added them to her box to mail.  Have you made an embellishment box lately?

A Mother

This card was made for my mother on Mothers Day.  It was inspired by Viva La Verve May sketch.  DCWV The Gilded Paper stack was used to create this card. The stamp is 'A Mother Is' by Stampabilities.  I added the gold Recollection doily and Ranger embossing powder was used for the sentiment.

I made a little pocket page to enclosed the sentiment that is actually detached with a note at the bottom and a little cash to spoil herself.  : )

Prima Doll Swap With A Twist

Scraps of Color had a swap "Prima Doll With a Twist!"   You could create a tag, pocket letter or journal or all three.  Below are my creations for my partners.  As you can tell, Nedine was my partner for the journal.  I wanted to create something inspirational for her.  The black die cut is actually a typewriter, but it's hard to see with the note 'Count it all Joy'. All papers are from Simple Stories Faith paper stack and the quotes and phrases are from Create 365 The Happy Planner Faith sticker sheet.  Stickers are all in the journal so when she turns a page, she will have an instant smile and a reminder of the goodness of God.

This Prima Doll Taylor was used for this Pocket Letter that was created for Walena using Me and My Big Ideas paper stack and other embellies.

This Prima Doll Chiara was created for Tracy using Simple Stories Life in Color paper stack and other embellies.

This Prima Doll Keira tag was created for Gloria using Our Daily Bread paper stack and other embellies.

Crafty weekend

It was a busy weekend, but you better believe I made time to play in the craft room.  Let me share three projects I worked on.  They are all challenges going on at Scraps of Color.  The first one is to use a Robert Jackson digital.  The theme is "It's In the Song".  Let me tell you when I first purchased this digital, the song that came to my mind was "Standing in the Need of Prayer" by John P Kee.  You can listen to it here.  I'm a witness God does hear and answer prayers.
Used Bo Bunny Faith Collection
Our Daily Bread Filigree Frames
Bic Mark it markers
This one is my brothers birthday card.  He's going to be touched by the inside.
So proud of the man he has become.
Used The Paper Studio Simple Elegance paper
Spectrum Noir markers
This tag is used with corrugated board painted with Adirondack Metallics Gold paint.
I even pulled out the Metallic Pearls I've been hoarding.
Used a few items received from my crafty friends!
Heart felt Creations Fleur Border gifted by Shirley
Tag gifted by Ruby

Crafting My Love

This layout is inspired from a Black History Month BINGO Challenge going on at Scraps of Color that I am hosting.  It's a 6x6 layout of my LOVE for crafting.  This photo was taken last year at my church mother's 90th birthday party! In this design I used Simple Stories Life in Color paper stack, The Paper Studio brads, Studio Calico chipboard stickers, Flea Market paper clip, Sizzix file folder die cut, Recollection doily and Martha Stewart edge punch.

RAK Swap - Mini Album

Check out this 6 x 6 Interactive Mini Album I created for my swap partner at Scraps of Color!  Ruby Wilkes was my partner and she loves to travel.  The beautiful papers I've been hoarding used for this traveling theme mini album are Echo Park's (Get Away) paper stack.  Everything was made from scratch and to tell you how determined I was to get it done....It was finished in one night.  Oh Yes!!!!  The adrenaline in my little crafty heart was pumping up something powerful! The only thing I hate is that I didn't write down the measurements. Oh well....I am definitely a tea girl, but for some strange reason I was craving coffee that day.  Should I say anything more?  LOL  Hope you enjoy viewing it!   Time to organize my craft studio for the next project.
