This layout is inspired from a Black History Month BINGO Challenge going on at Scraps of Color that I am hosting. It's a 6x6 layout of my LOVE for crafting. This photo was taken last year at my church mother's 90th birthday party! In this design I used Simple Stories Life in Color paper stack, The Paper Studio brads, Studio Calico chipboard stickers, Flea Market paper clip, Sizzix file folder die cut, Recollection doily and Martha Stewart edge punch.

Junior's canvas
This canvas was painted for my nephews room. I can't wait until he visits us so he can play in the craft studio. I'm going to try and teach him some techniques. He's only four, but he's smart. Can't wait to see what he creates. Check out the close ups below. My next project will be printing his photos so I can catch up with his scrapbook album.

| I'm loving the embellishments I used. Some are VERY old. I used stickers, metals and paper stack. |
| This photo was taken when he was two years old. He loved to travel with his basketball. The photo is attached to the two clothes pins so we can up date it with new photos. |

One Word 2015
Patience is my One Word for 2015. How many times have I heard, "Patience is a Virtue"? I've been exercising it since late August. Trying to practice self control and not complain. I know God has a plan for my life and is preparing me for my next career. I just want to be obedient, because His promise will be fulfilled. When I received my Spellbinder window die cut, it reminded me of a song, "God will pour you out a Window of Blessings that you won't have room to receive. I'm claiming it.

Goals for 2015
Wow, my first creation for 2015 is a layout so I believe I'm off to a great start! I'm inspired from Scraps of Color 1st challenge using a Robert Jackson digital with the word 'Cheer' in the project. Since I don't believe in New Year Resolutions, I chose to set mini goals: Gainful employment that will lead into my next career, A Praying Spirit, Exercising & Healthy Eating habits and one day a week for 'Me time'.

PJ Loves to Play
I am so enjoying my nephew and creating layouts for his album. This is Patrick Junior at seven months. Oh how they grow up. I'm using C'est Magnifique October sketch for this layout. I wanted to use a masculine approach on this layout using a little distressing, and fun templates with modeling paste and mists. I used Fiskars crimper tool on the upper left side to give a little texture to the paper. See sketch below.

Happy Birthday to Me I'm 53
Thank you God for another year! I've been celebrating since my nephew's 1st birthday July 27th. He's adorable and not because he's MY nephew. It's amazing how time flies. Because of him I'm scrapbooking again! Love the cute stickers by Crafty Secrets Beautiful Brown Baby.
We celebrated his birthday in Memphis and I made him a banner which is now in his bedroom. It's made up of fabrics both cloth and leather complimentary of Hilton Worldwide that I received during their Crop for a Cause last year. I think I put it to good use. Burlap was added to the back of it and Die Cut with a View embellishments on top. Oh I forgot to mention the letters are compliments from Classygirl Crop by Cosmo Cricket Blackboard Vintage Mix.
My mother's birthday was August 14th. This is shadowbox I made for her. It's an outfit that we truly adored him in from Janie and Jack. The blocks were decorations from his baby shower. Mama Minnie is still smiling as it now hangs on her wall. ( My apologies for the glare)

Welcome August
Join Scraps of Color this month for our sketch challenge. I'm sure you've taken lots of photos over the summer and need a little MOJO. We have just the sketch for you by Tiare Smith. It's screaming summer time. So mosey on over to our site here and you will see the Design Team's take on the sketch. They are all different and scream summertime! I was told it might be a little something for you. Here's my take on the sketch entitled 'SMILE'. What a difference seven years make. The 5x7 was taken in 2006 with my straight hair and the silhouette was taken this year with my natural hair after the 'BIG' cut.

April cards bring May layouts
Although I love creating cards, I miss designing layouts so you will see more this month. My play niece Morgan just celebrated her Sweet Sixteen. These were the colors of her party. This layout was framed and put on a table easel to commemorate her early years. Look how cute she's blossomed. Morgan is a focused honor student at Hutchison , who enjoys golf, dance, track and choir. Her love for debating has inspired her to become an attorney.

What is Your Favorite Winter Hot Beverage?
Adriana at Scraps of Color sent out a challenge asking, "What is Your Favorite Winter Beverage?" She asked us to do a layout with one of Saturated Canary's cute little digis as our inspiration. I used the digi with my 8x8 layout. Since Green Tea is my favorite beverage I thought I would use the color green. Hope you're warm & cozy.

She was so cute I had to add a card.

Hali
Hali is my soror Sheronda’s daughter, which is my play
niece. She knows anytime she needs
something crafty she can count on TT Princess.
Her mother needed a sign to wave when she’s in competition. This is my creation from a 12x12 layout in between a corrugated board. We added a painter’s stick to the layout to
form the sign covered with duct tape.

Recipe ingredients:
Cricut
- letters
Corrugated boardBazzill cardstock Shaker Shapes – star shaker box Archivers – paw die cuts Recollections - bling Dress It Up - buttons Martha Stewart edge punch |
Hali forgot her TT was quick with the camera. She said she wasn't ready for a photo, but I
caught her through the mirror lol.

Word Art Wednesday
Hello fellow scrappers and friends! I created a layout. Yes it's been a while. I used this weeks scripture from Word Art Wednesday Challenge #49 - Be Ye Kind. Inspiration came from Die Cut With A View Stack-a-holic Template Challenge.
I was searching for some pictures and this old photo connected with this weeks scripture at WAW. I love teaching Sunday School. I must say children are so much different than when I was growing up. If parents could just spend a little more quality time instead of letting technology take all their time it would be sooooo much better.
BUT.....It is my prayer that they continue to grow in Christ.
| DCWV The Music Stack - paper DCWV All Chalked Up neutral - base paper Word Art Wednesday - scripture Little Yellow Bicycle, American Traditional, Making Memories - titlework Prima flowers |
Okay so I'm trying to stop hoarding paper. It's hard to use this paper stack because I can't find it anywhere. It's The Music Stack and it has gorgeous papers inside. I used mostly teal, orange and peach.
BUT.....It is my prayer that they continue to grow in Christ.

Wisdom Only Comes with Age
Four siblings each on my mothers and fathers side still living a Blessed Life. The photo on the top is of my mother age 74 (fourth) and the oldest is my Auntie Granny age 90 (second). The bottom photo is my father's sisters. They are all sweet ladies and are too cute as they age. I LOVE having conversations with them. The many times I call to check on them and see how they are doing, they end up lifting me up!
This layout is Design team work for Scraps of Color Espire and will be submitted in Word Art Wednesday challenge #44 Encouraging or Uplifting.

Soul Sisters
Todays posting for Platinumscraps is from Sketchabilities #66. I love this sketch.

This is my take on it. I saw the birdcage and grabbed the Mariposa paper stack. It's been a while since I played with the Tattered Angels mist so I got a kick out of that. You will be seeing more of it on my creations. The butterflies were handcut out of the pretty paper stack. The black doily was purchased at a scrapbook convention. I can't remember what vendor.

Family Stories
This week is Free For All at Platinum Scraps I created this layout with a photo I took over 10 years ago. We are family and sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I’m forever grateful for my cousin Marilyn who led the way to an Incredible Journey and Awesome Sisterhood. My sorority keeps me quite busy, but I LOVE the work we do in the community and the sisterhood is Phenomenal! Oh Just to be, to be a Delta Girl ……
Since our colors are Crimson & Cream, I chose Bo Bunny’s paper collection. I just love the metal and chipboard embellishments and of course I had to include Robert Jackson’s digital stamp.
Journaling reads: Sister & Cousins, We are Family, And also Sorors of D. S. T.

Papercrafter in the Making
My little cousin McKenzie wanted me to help her with a school project. She had to create a shoe box with her favorite insect ‘the butterfly’ and boy was I excited! What?!! It’s another opportunity to Papercraft! I took out a DCWV decoupage kit I received as a RAK from my scrappy sistah Samantha. We took out the Making Memories paint and the rest was on. Being the scrapbooker that I am it was only appropriate to pull out the camera to capture the moment, because I knew a layout was coming. It's my Design Team project for Platinum Scraps with a Pagemap 2 page sketch.
Of course I couldn’t resist the DCWV Mariposa pattern and solid glimmer cardstock paper pack. Perfect huh? In her project McKenzie used Making Memories paint for the dirt, grass and sky. She used Martha Stewart fringe scissors for the grass. I received some butterfly stickers as a RAK and she placed them on the inside and out. For the clouds my scrappy sistah Rhoda suggested cotton balls! Of course it was her project so why not personalize it with sticker alphabets and that’s why McKenzie Butterflies received an A+ on her assignment.
