Prima Doll Pocket Letter Swap

At Embrace Our Art, I hosted a Prima Doll Pocket Letter Swap.  Julie Nutting Prima Dolls are like Lay's potato chips, you can't just do one.  I made three cooking theme pocket letters. The cooking embellishments were purchased for a recipe journal that I never started and thought, why not put them on the pocket letter and send recipes?

Memory Garden

Just wanted to post my Memory Garden created for our Pink Sunday in the Fellowship Hall. My goal was to make 30, but 23 was all I could complete.  It was our Annual Breakfast sponsored by the Young Women Association at my church.  Our theme was 'It Ain't Over'. Unfortunately I didn't think of taking photos of the rest of the decorations until we broke everything down.

The Memory Garden remained on the wall.  They were done with pink 8 1/2 x 11 papers.  This idea came from my sorority when we did an entire backdrop for the dais.    The signs were done by one of our advisors Debra Colvin.  We have six Breast Cancer survivors at our church, but three have gone on to be with the Lord.

Friday Night Chat Challenges

Enjoyed tonight's Friday Night Challenge over at Embrace Your Art.  Tiare better known as Classygirl was our host and she allowed an hour for us to create instead of 30 minutes so I got a chance to take my time.  Our first challenge was to create a project with our favorite technique and use our handwriting.  I painted this on a watercolor sketch pad using acrylic paint, watercolor, masking, glitter...I don't think I have a favorite technique.

Fall into your Season

The first card was inspired by a song Donald Lawrence sings entitled "Seasons".  I left the link on his name if you would like to listen to it.  It will truly speak to your heart. The sketch for both cards are by Freshly Made Sketches.  Autumn is my favorite season!  I love the coolness in the air, the crisp colors and the warmness of family and friends together.

Prima Doll Parade

We're having a Prima Doll Parade today at Embrace Your Art from a swap we just had.  I only have three Prima Dolls and since I was indecisive I made two for my partner.  They are Megan and Suzi.  Stickles was added to the jacket I made for her as well as the bottom of her dress and shoes. Below is a close up.

This is the tag in it's entirety.

With this Prima Doll I used embossing powder on the sentiment and flock for the sand at the bottom of her feet.

With Heartfelft Sympathy

Just a quick post for this sympathy card I made at a crop last night with an inspired MOJO Monday sketch.  The papers from  Paper House Colorways. It's quite simple.  It's stamped with no coloring or embellishments, which is not my style.  You know what?  I love it!  Make it a great day bloggers!

African Violet Burlap Wreath

My "Delta" mother went to glory on my birthday.  It still doesn't seem real, but I know she is helping God run things in heaven.  She and my mother were the same age and had the same morals and discipline.  Ma Mildred as she was affectionately called, was a wise woman and full of knowledge in Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She was a beautiful soul, always giving, and teaching and checking to make sure all things were "Decent and In Order".  This wreath was suppose to go on the door of a session she was going to teach at our reclamation after we heard of her sudden death.  I finally finished it.

Our Reclamation was a cowboy theme and I have photos of the table decors to share with you.  My Crafty sisters Rhoda, Nicole and Samantha came to my rescue to help assist with completing the table decors for the event.  This is what we started with.  All purchased from Michael's.

The Finished Touch

Hope you enjoyed the visit here.  Your comments are certainly encouraging.
I will be sure to stop by your blog and leave a little love as well.  Happy Paper Crafting!

My Art Angel

Although paper crafting is my first preference, I sometimes play around with paint.  I checked out Tiare's 'My Art Angel' online class featured on Embrace Our Art.  It was fun and I got so carried away I couldn't sleep. We were to add a heart and one word.  My word is faith.  One of my sorority sister's gifted me with a few crafty items since she was not using them.  One of the items was a blank canvas mini purse measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  This is my creation and I can't wait to wear it!  Now I have to figure out what I will paint on the other side.

Illustrated Faith

OH my....I LOVE this paper stack.  I couldn't stop creating and have enough paper left to make a few tags or cards.  It's an overload of photos, but I wanted you to see everything I created.

This is the layout I made to create the card using one 8 1/2 x 11 plain card stock.

Here's the inside view when you flip up the front cover.  The top pink piece has white sheets of paper to journal.  I just love the Spellbinder typewriter at the bottom!  I use it often.

This is the view when you open the bottom flap over to the left.  It's a few tags stuffed inside the Martha Stewart's edge punch.  The white flowers was a RAK from my sorority sister.

This is the back cover using Our Daily Bread Boho background die.

This is the front page of the card stock and since I loved all the papers I used it for the cover of my journal.

A few sheets of papers, stickers, and sentiments from the stack was used.  Lace and washi tape was added and I used a black watercolor pencil to make the papers and  embellishments stand out.

Below are three journals I made for my missionary sisters and added things in my stash along with scriptures.

This card was inspired by Viva La Verve August week 1 sketch.

Thank you for stopping by.  Let me know what you think about my creations!!!
