Christmas in July 5 of 5

Shout out to Shawnna for posting the Christmas in July Creative Challenge at Scraps of Color.  I have had the most Amazing time creating my projects for Christmas.  Now it's time to store them where they can be easily accessible when I start decorating.  This is my 5th project of 5 and I will share the other projects at the end.  It's a Christmas tree card holder cut out from a corrugated board.  I applied a coat of Gesso before I applied Olive Green acrylic paint on top.  I edged the sides and bottom with Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy ink (my fav)....wish I could find some more!  My vision was altering the clothes pins, but I just covered them with red paint and glitter. I found the ornaments in my Christmas stash waiting to be used.  I double tied Lawn Fawn lawn trimming to put on top of the ornaments and put the snowflakes down on an angle topped with bling.

The topper

I found a few Christmas cards I made last year. Now imagine it with cards!

Now it's time to put my Christmas papers and embellies away.  It was in two Iris 12x12 storage containers, but now it's all in one!  Thanks for dropping by.  I would love to know which one was your favorite.

There will be no reason for me to purchase any more Christmas bags.  I got a handful of natural bags from Michaels and headed for my stash.  This is the front and back view of the bag I made for Scraps of Color Christmas in July challenge.  All it needs is some tissue paper and a gift.  My 5th project is in the making..........Check back later today.

Christmas in July 3 of 5

ATC's are SNOW much fun!  I had about three packages of snowmen and thought why not do ATC's and NO I am not dreaming of a white Christmas. If you noticed, I said 3 of 5 because at Scraps of Color is having a  Christmas in July challenge to complete five projects by July 30th.  I also made a box to put my ATC's in.  The paper is from Teresa Collins Checking It Twice paper pad.  What I love most about ATC's is that you use everything from your stash.

 ATC's featuring the Snow Family
The box was quick and easy!
 All ready to send out!

Create In Me A Clean Heart

This post was inspired by Scrapping Everyday Miracles July challenge:  Create/Creation.  I cut a heart shape into the corrugated board.  I took another board and cut the entire circle out.  Gesso and white paint was applied to the cut-out heart.  Cheese cloth was put around the edges and I made the white flowers from an EK success small flower and put them in the heart.  To make sure there were no gaps, I added beads and buttons and stickles. For the board, different acrylic paints were stroke all over.  Then I applied objects that gave me a circular look including a brad with dots.

Tag It, I'm It Again

I love making tags, especially when I have scraps left.  That's what I did with this one.  These scraps were  left over after making a mini album.  I thought the primary colors would be perfect for a child and so is this adorable image.  My Sunday School class received bookmarks when they bring their Bible and learn a new scripture each 5th Sunday. The tag is 3 1/2 x 6.

Sunshine Mail with Zap Pow Designs

I've got two cards for my boy and girl thanks to Zap Pow Designs.  I went wayyyyyyy back when I first started Papercrafting to find this paper in my stash.  Does anyone have this dinosaur paper?  It was perfect timing for Mr. Cool.  He is wearing those green shades.  Even my Octopussy is looking pretty even while she's holding down the waves.  It's time for me to send another shipment of cards.  And you can send a card to.  See below

Tag...I'm it

It's been a Wonderful Crafty Day for me.  I played with a few of my Tim Holtz products I received at Hilton's Craftin for a Cause last year.  I can't believe I'm just now playing with this stamp set.  I purchased his first book at Archivers some years ago and all I do is look and dream....Not today.  I made a tag using most of his products.  I must give Mandy credit for the cheese cloth.  She mentioned it was one of her six favorite tools that she uses on all of her creations.  'She' made me go to Michael's LOL.  Got to blame someone for my purchases right?   Honestly I think I'm going to take the flower off the tag and replace it with another one.  I'm going to wear it!!!!  I made it using tulle that I burned the ends and added the cheese cloth after I sprayed it.  Then I sewed the button on the top and added some felt at the back.

I don't know if the chipboard pieces (hanger, needle, dress form and sewing machine) are his or not.
This is how I got started. With the chipboard pieces I inked them and used Precious Pearls.

MOJO Monday 353

Christmas in July 2 of 5

Today I'm here with my 2nd project of 5 for Scraps of Color  Christmas in July challenge.  It's five cards!  I was trying to use the last of my My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland designer paper pad. The pad is full of cute papers and sentiments.  I focused mostly on using all of the paper, added a  dry embossing folder and several Martha Stewart punches.  If you need to get a head start on your cards, the best route is MOJO Monday sketches.  That's how I got these done so quickly!

My Scrapbook Prayer

On my 'Craft To Do List' has always been a plaque with my blog name.  I envisioned it to have tropical decor and there have been several ideas yet it never came together until now.  Instead of a plaque, I put my heART into a canvas of things that inspired my blog name.  In 2008 I visited Hawaii.  That's the photo on my blog.  I knew I was addicted to Paper crafting when I found three scrapbook stores there. Who does that?   Also that same year my scrapbook group 'The Queen Scrappers' attended the Scrapbook Extravaganza held in Little Rock, AR.  On our road trip back I start writing a poem, which turned out to be 'My Scrapbook Prayer'.  It was featured in Scraps of Color magazine and is my Design Team post for Scraps of Color E:spire.
Recipe ingredients:
Faber Castell gelatos
Tsukineko chalk ink
Color box chalk ink
Stazon ink
Studio 71 canvas paper
Prima Bloom Girl
Canvas Corp - canvas
Recollections stamps, metal and stickers
Webster's Pages fabric sticker and flowers
Prima and Recollection flowers
K & Company Sea Glass chipboards
Making Memories mesh
Martha Stewart butterfly punches
Provo Craft alphabet stamps
Stickles - variety
Copic and Bic Mark it markers
Kimberly watercolor pencils
I was trying to justify my addiction and the poem came to light!  Here's a close up of my prayer.

Close up of the bottom left featuring the Prima Bloom stamp. Isn't she a beauty?

Close up of my beach on the bottom right using chipboards, beads, fiber and metal.

Close up of the upper left of the banner.

Close up of the upper right with another beach theme.

After five hours on this project, I'm going to clean up and relax for sure....Until the next inspired project. LOL

Playing with Taylor

My 4th of July was nice although I had to work a half day, but the time went fast.  It was the first time we went out for dinner instead of the family gathering.  The majority of the family went to Dallas, TX so the few who stayed went to Logan's Steak House.  The salmon was delicious!  Well on to my excitement of playing with Taylor!  I won her on Michelle's blog during Flying Unicorn's Blog Hop.  The talent there is Amazing.  You will truly be inspired.  Oh by the way, I made the flower with the EK Success mini flower punch and MME paper pad.

Christmas In July 1 of 5

I accepted the challenge at Scraps of Color to create Christmas projects in July.  I believe the challenge was to create five projects. There's more to come.  Since I always procrastinate I thought this was the perfect opportunity.  I have one of several mini albums I will be giving as gifts.  I have a ton of photos of past events of family and friends.  I will be getting them out of the photos boxes and into a mini.  I went with the CD sleeve album again.  When I told you they were addictive, they truly are and I have enough to keep me busy until I run out of paper.  Mmmm maybe I should clean out my Christmas stash and be ready to shop for new finds.  Did I saw shop?  LOL
