National Scrapbook Day challenge

For National Scrapbook Day, I made a gift bag for a Soror with a sweet treat! After one hour in the line at JoAnns, I just had to leave. She knew I wanted material and picked up a few pieces of fabrics on her visit for me. It was the perfect opportunity to use sketch SC427 to create the design.  Of course the digital image I colored was the infamous Robert Jackson and the digital scripture is by Word Art Wednesday

Mm mm good if I might say.  Yes!  Banana pudding

Come Sunday Challenge

This card was made for a sister who lost her husband. It was inspired by a 'Come Sunday' challenge at Scraps of Color using a Robert Jackson digital image.  The sketch is by Feeling Sketchy and I enjoyed making the pocket to include the tissue.   The scripture definitely speaks to this present time right?  The butterflies were fussy cut from the Mariposa paper. Sure who it encourages her heart.

He's Got The Whole World In His Hands

Instead of focusing on the negative news and pandemic in the world, Tyler Perry put a challenge out to sing, "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands!"   Mary Joyce over at Scraps of Color put out a challenge to use a Robert Jackson digital with a song.   My crafty self  start singing in my craft room and instantly thought about the Hymns in the church, which we use to sing often.  It all came together in this card.  Then I thought about the receiver.  She's Deborah Thomas, a re-known Memphis singer with the voice that will make you think Mahalia Jackson is in the room.  You can find her on Facebook singing the song.  Papers and embellishment are from the Simple Stories - Faith paper stack.  #itsallinthesong  #faithoverfear

Psalm 40:5

This is my third post over at Word Art Wednesday as Guest Designer in January.  It has been a pleasure creating for such an inspirational blog of wonderful  designers.  Karen is such a blessing and joy.  We've only communicated via email, but I feel like I know her as if we've met each other in person.  Just talking about the goodness of God brings me joy.  I can't imagine my life without Him.  It's amazing how God brings people in your life.  I'll cherish our friendship for a life time.  Psalm 40:5 reminds me of a journal I completed one year, noting only positive moments that happened within the day.  I still go back to the journal, because it reminds me if He did it once He will do it again and He has done marvelous things.  I just can't name them all!!!

Psalm 16:8

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  I welcome 2020 and so excited about what God has for me.  What an honor to start 2020 in the Word. This card was created for Word Art Wednesday challenge using Psalm 16:8 as their Guest Designer.  I believe this scripture spoke to sweet little Phoebe.  She said nothing can swerve her from her purpose.  God has her right hand baking in her new business.  Great example for those of you making New Year resolutions to seek God first and then create your plan!

Holiday swap

I definitely had fun over at Scraps of Color with the Holiday swap. We had to create a card and a homemade gift was option.  My partner was Dianna Wilson that happens to be my sorority sister.  She just celebrated 50 years in Delta so I made her a simple tag and interactive mini album.  I recently purchased the prettiest Christmas paper stack by Recollections at Michaels to create it.

50th Wedding Anniversary

This was a team effort. My mother covered the boxes and together we designed this gift box for a dear couple. It's their 50th Wedding Anniversary and the colors are black, gold and cream.  They were extremely pleased and that made our hearts glad!

This is a close up of the topper.  I painted it gold and included a Robert Jackson digital that I colored of this cute couple.  The numbers are gold stickers.  My mother added the ribbon and tulle.
The bling is from Michaels

Crafty weekend

It was a busy weekend, but you better believe I made time to play in the craft room.  Let me share three projects I worked on.  They are all challenges going on at Scraps of Color.  The first one is to use a Robert Jackson digital.  The theme is "It's In the Song".  Let me tell you when I first purchased this digital, the song that came to my mind was "Standing in the Need of Prayer" by John P Kee.  You can listen to it here.  I'm a witness God does hear and answer prayers.
Used Bo Bunny Faith Collection
Our Daily Bread Filigree Frames
Bic Mark it markers
This one is my brothers birthday card.  He's going to be touched by the inside.
So proud of the man he has become.
Used The Paper Studio Simple Elegance paper
Spectrum Noir markers
This tag is used with corrugated board painted with Adirondack Metallics Gold paint.
I even pulled out the Metallic Pearls I've been hoarding.
Used a few items received from my crafty friends!

Daniel Fast

I've joined the Daniel Fast.  My cousin asked me to start one week later so she would have a prayer partner and I called my soror to join so we three are having a great start in the Lord in 2018!  I haven't been tempted eating outside fruits and vegetables.  Prayers have already been answered! The altered journal was designed to write notes of my journey of how the Lord blessed, scriptures including personal notes to the Lord, and my meal plan. My word for 2018 is PEACE.  Yes PEACE within and PEACE in the world. Lord have mercy.....The tag I made for my journal is evidence of the word.

My journal and tag
Digital Image is Robert Jackson Fine Arts

Close up of my tag.  It reminds me of the Mother's Board.

Red White and Blue

I can't believe it's almost half of the year.  Since July 4th is right around the corner I wanted to create a Red White and Blue card.  I have several sorority sisters who serve and have served in the military.  One of them will be the receiver.  This card was inspired by Viva La Verve card sketch and Word Art Wednesday free word art.  The digital is by Robert Jackson. He has lots of military digitals and you can find them here.

Creative Type of Girl

Getting my Random Acts of Kindness box prepared for my swap partner at Scraps of Color.  We are suppose to make a handmade gift and box minimum cost of $20 in scrapbook goodies on their wish list.  She is making tags with Tim Holtz products.  This is TH pages from the Retro Grunge paper stash and I had a blast at Michael's purchasing from his product line.  Her favorite colors are green and black.  This digital is by Robert Jackson, our greatest fan at SOC!  The stamped sentiment was from the front rack at Michael's a while back.    I thought it was the perfect image and sentiment for the RAK Swap.  Now to finish the homemade gift.  I'll be sure to post it after she receives her box.

The Haves & Have Not featuring Hanna and Candace

Our last two characters in Scraps of Color relay challenge for The Haves & Have Nots is Hanna & Candace.  We were asked to use a die cut and a scripture for Hanna.  For Candace we were to use a quote with the word money and bling. This was the longest group of characters.  Just by playing along with meeting the deadline with the requirements on each project, you receive all the digitals!   Thanks to Mary Joyce for keeping us inspired and Robert Jackson for his great heART!  You can purchase the images here.
