SOC Friday Night Chat Challenge

I was an impromptu hostess at Scraps of Color FNC Friday Night Chat.  It’s been a while since I’ve hung out with my girls.  It was a blast.  We have an image challenge that ends at midnight CST on Sunday, which we used a boy and/or girl Bratz digital image.  The theme was Children.  As a Design Team member of Sunshine Mail ,we don’t get many to enter our challenges and send their cards so I hope you are inspired.  The creations were awesome.  We started at 8:00CST and they had to create a card in 30 minutes with the following challenges.

Great use of scraps

I found this idea on Pinterest.  I needed something quick and easy.  Coming from a Customer Service background, I love to celebrate success.  These bags were made for my co-workers. The theme was "How Sweet It Is"....Celebrating 30 days on the job. I put their favorite sweet treat and beverage in the bag while using scraps of their favorite color.  Some of them still have their tags hanging at their desk!

#Bring Back Our Girls

I'm joining the movement and spreading the message through painting.  #BRING BACK OUR GIRLS!  I can not imagine what is going on in their minds right now. It's Mother's Day and the uncertainty that they may never see their mothers again is devastating. I love the quote, "Courage is Fear that has said it's prayers".   It is my prayer that they will reunite with their families and continue their dreams.

A Mothers Love

Have you gone to church and witnessed a sister, mother, or teacher with a row of children sitting on a pew?  Well this use to be me back in the day.  While teaching ages 1-6, children can get stuck to you from Sunday School to church.  I LOVED it....kind of miss those days.  Children are SO much different than they use to be back in the day.  I think every mother has shared this scripture with a child, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart. - Proverbs 3-5.

Happy Mother's Day

For our Little Grad

We use to keep a little girl name Ayanna until she and her mother moved to Birmingham.  We just fell in love with her and have kept up with Ayanna throughout school.  Last weekend she graduated from college.  What a joy it was!  She's a leader, an awesome student and focused on her goals.  It's a celebration!  We are proud of her and her mother for raising such a darling little lady.

NSD 2014

This was my first time ever celebrating NSD alone.  I had a totally wonderful day.  My goals were posted on Scraps of Color blog to 1) Complete a Design Team project, 2) Make 10 mini album kits, 3) Alter two picture frames, 4) Make 20 cards from my stash, 5) Mail cards to Sunshine Mail, 6) Play with paint, and 7) Post my day!  Well what had happen was...lol.    The mini albums came in handy when 10 graduates from our Delta GEMS program were having their ceremony.  This mini tag album ended up being their gift. I altered one frame which was my DT project at Scraps of Color E:Spire, which I played with paint.  I made only two cards that were requested and my Sunshine Mail is postal! Check out each tag.  I was inspired by Frilly and Funkie. The mini tag album is all put together towards the end.

Got my hands in a little mixed media with this one.  I sweet old lady once told me to keep a song in my heart and a Psalm in my mind so I wanted to pass that on to them.   The sheet music is from my church bulletin.
Putting all the pieces together for the kits......It was right on time and easy to prepare.

Each stack ready to be put together and delivered.

Here they are all put together with a binder ring and a pretty red ribbon.  It is my prayer that the graduates are inspired with the positive messages as they enter into the new chapter of their life.  I Remember When...

Now for the icing on the cake....Well cupcakes.  I was craving for a healthy sweet treat.  In between all the crafty fun, I baked some sweet potato bran muffins!  This is the batter. Oooey Gooey and Yummy for my Tummy.
This is the set up.  You know I had to make them special.  NSD is an Awesome Day to Celebrate! Right?

And the end result!  I topped them off with a homemade streusel. Now I need to do a layout and include the recipe.  I'll be sure to make them again.

I apologize for the long post, but how can you shorten such a fun filled NSD day!

Our Daily Bread Designs - ODBDSLC201

The background of this card was a gift from the Scraps of Color scrapbooking retreat held in Atlanta this Spring.  It's Artist paper called "Neon Nonsense" by Stampington & Company.  I thought the butterfly would be beautiful to show how we can transform into something beautiful in the eyes of the beholder.  Thank God for Salvation.  It doesn't cost us anything.  We just need to be delivered so we can too like the butterfly be set free and let our light so shine.
