What a Prize!

I was a winner at Scrapbook.com World Card Making Day!  It made my day.  It was that kind of week when I had so many deadline projects and goals to meet at work, personal goals to stay focus with and trying to stay calm in all of it got me feeling pretty exhausted.  But there was a Silver Lining.....When I arrived home late last night, I was thrilled to pick up this huge box filled with goodies.  Let me share it with you!  You will be seeing some projects real soon.  I don't have any of these items in my stash so I can't wait to play in the craft room.  WOW, What A Blessing!  Sad to see so many craft stores have closed their doors, but Scrapbook.com is still striving and inspiring us to craft!  Got to love that place!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy DSP week!

I'm sharing cards made for our Direct Support Professional team at SRVS!  It takes a BIG heart to work with people with disabilities.   The cards are all made from scraps I was going to throw away.  The paper was too pretty to trash, but I found a purpose for it.  Cardmaking is a great way to use your scraps.  The sentiment is by Verve's Stamps!

Flip Book Swap

Well Hello friends,
I suppose you thought I took a Sabbatical, but actually I've been doing so many requested projects!  From shadow boxes, graduation albums and altered gift bags, I didn't take the time to take photos for my blog.  So without further delay, let me share this Friendship Flip Book I made for Mary Wooding over at Scraps Of Color.  Sweet Shirley was our hostess that got it all together.  SOC is closing this month.  My heart is heavy just thinking about it.  They are sisters I've actually not only connecting via on-line, but have arranged to meet in person.  Oh what wonderful fellowships we've had together.  And you know if we met, we visited a craft store in the city right?!!  Well back to my flip book, Mary requested pink and black combo.  Let me share the pages of which I used a Recollections 6 x 6 paper stack.  (Warning Photo overload)  Enjoy!!!

Junior's canvas

This canvas was painted for my nephews room.  I can't wait until he visits us so he can play in the craft studio.  I'm going to try and teach him some techniques. He's only four, but he's smart.  Can't wait to see what he creates.  Check out the close ups below.  My next project will be printing his photos so I can catch up with  his scrapbook album.

My mother thought the canvas was wood.  I had to show her the technique.  Acrylic paint was used on some of the chipboard letters to bring in the colors of the paper by DCWV paper stack All About Boys/Sports.

I'm loving the embellishments I used.  Some are VERY old.  I used stickers, metals and paper stack.

This photo was taken when he was two years old.  He loved to travel with his basketball.
The photo is attached to the two clothes pins so we can up date it with new photos.

He's learning this scripture.  The OCD in me was upset that the scripture wasn't centered so I had to include some star stickers to balance it off.  I might work on it again just to balance it off.  Anytime I can, I love to use my handwriting.

Check out these old embellishments!  I purchased them years ago.  The sentiment was from a scrapbook convention back in the day.  The metal was at  Michaels back in the day.  I love the textures from the cheesecloth and templates.

Do you have a friend that you haven't talked to in a while, but when you finally get together you have to catch up on old times?  I have one.  She's too funny and I love her.  We've been friends since elementary school.  We have to catch up on the family and see how everyone is.  I used this gateway fold card to send to her.  I'm going to enclosed an old photo of us.
