An Easel Card

This  birthday card was made for one of my Scraps of Color sistah's 80 year old mother.  What a blessing!  I wanted to use a digital, but the window die caught my eye.  The sentiment inside says 'Gentle thoughts of you'.  The folded card is for a Scraps of Color challenge.  It was hard just making one easel card so stay tuned.  You will see more this week.  Thanks for stopping by.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Made this card for Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I believe I was having a flashback day creating this card.  The products are old.  The Paper is DCWV Teen Mat stack.  The stamp set is by Hero Arts including the bling.  The hearts are made from a Martha Stewart 'punch all over the page' punch.  A recent purchase was the Prima watercolors I used to bring the coffee cup alive.  The cup and sentiment were embossed and I sprinkled a little embossing powder in the white space.  My intention was to capture coffee grinds. lol  Thanks for stopping by 'Friend'.  Did you notice that in the bottom portion of the card?

I am a coffee-loving-cardmaker!

Make It Happen

Write the Vision...This card was made for one of my graduates. yes graduates.  A Delay is not a Denial!  I wanted to send her an inspirational card with her gift.  Love this paper stack by Recollection- Spring Decorate.  I was preparing for a 'Tiffany inspired' birthday mini scrapbook session and I used some scraps left over to create this card.  LOVE the pencil with the inspirational message "Make it Happen" that's above this cute little digital by All Dressed Up.

Can you see the pencil above her hair?

Altered Journals

Hello Papercrafters!
I wanted to share what I made for our Young Women's Association mission at church.  Today was our Annual Prayer Breakfast and it was held at my home this year.  I SO love this Women's ministry and we have a close bond.  God has seen us through many challenges and our faith in Him has grown tremendously.  I purchased composition books from the Dollar Tree and altered them with scraps.  Yes I had a box of scraps and was about to throw them out while organizing and the thought came to my mind....Create journals!  They all had the same components, but designed a bit different:  Two patterned papers, a strip, a tag shape, birdcage, doily, scripture, sheet music (from our church programs), bling, and a flourish.  The stamps are from Unity and Our Daily Bread Designs.  Each sister read their scripture and it spoke volumes to their spirit!  We had a high time in the Lord!  Our challenge is to journal something good that happens each day.  At our next mission, we will share.  God is Good...Just couldn't keep it to myself!!!  Be blessed...

Our advisor Sis. Thompson is sitting down.  She's a jewel!

I got married!

Well not really.....
What had happened was...We had Friday Night Challenge and Chat over at Scraps of Color hostessed by Shirley.  The theme for the Main Challenge was 'The Wedding'.  We were to use a Julie Nutting Prima Doll and make her the bride, bridesmaid, etc. and this is my creation.  I rarely get to chat, because I'm creating and trying to clear up everything for the next challenge.  Also the two 30 minute card challenges follow the gift bag below.  I always try to have a sketch in mind and just pull all the elements together from the challenge.

Green Thumb

This card reminds me of a green thumb.  Although it's been raining all day and a little chilly, Spring is almost here.  What a lovely bouquet of flowers she has gathered. I'm not sure of who drew this cutie, but I found her somewhere on the web.  If you know let me know.  I used my Bic Mark its to color the body and watercolors to create the scene.

Relax

Who doesn't enjoy a nice bubble bath?  For Lent I'm giving up poor sleeping habits. One of my little cousins suggested I exercise close to bed time, take a relaxing bath and I'll sleep like a baby.  She was right!  I feel so much better.  Although I'm in pretty good health to be 54 with no health issues or meds to take, my poor sleeping habits was beginning to create stress, weight gain, and the ability to think clearly. I'm glad I listened to my body and took her advice.

The Cross

This cross by Recollections was used in a few pages of my customer's faith based scrapbook and I could not stop stamping it.  It's embossed in Suze Weinberg Ultra Thick Gold Embossing Enamel on the card and then I fussy cut it to put on the top of it with pop dots.  Love the look of the embossing powder.  A CAS card and layered tag was made from the scrap paper. Mmmm the ribbon is actually purple.
